That was down south youth, we where encouraged to get on our push bikes & look for work by Mr Tebbit

To be fair ML there were elements of yuppyism  but as RR said it was mainly down south and never really took off here. Yuppy I seem to recall was something like young, urban professionals. Weren't too many of them at Raleigh or Players factories - you didn't miss much..
