The expance of water in the foreground looks too wide for a canal.

Probably Ilkolad is correct but at the location I mentioned, what is now a marina was once a basin for loading/unloading narrow boats and storage of goods. Probably wrong.

I was out your way last night (Fri) Trent Lock Golf club in the Nicklaus suite cracking room overlooking the driving range golf balls everywhere .
