nonnaB 4,895
Yesterday on a tv programme one of the expressions was" he's got hair on his heels" ( in english) and the question was what did it mean and the " correct" answer was " indifferent" I've never heard this expression before and it made me wonder how many more can there be hanging around waiting to be expressed . Does anyone know of any others?
katyjay 5,091
Not heard that one before nonna, but we used to say, the first sign of madness is hair on the palm of your hand. The second sign is looking for it.
Jill Sparrow 10,307
Eyebrows that meet in the middle, or so my father used to say! A la Rudolf Hess. Mine never did and, since my thyroid went wrong, I don't have any eyebrows anyway!!!

Similarly, there's an entire thread on Nottstalgia about the word Serry which I'd never heard of until I saw it here https://nottstalgia.com/forums/topic/10208-serry/? And even now I've never come across it anywhere else.
Beekay 5,146
But do you drag your knuckles on the ground when walking Jill? ( tongue in cheek)
Jill Sparrow 10,307
I'll ignore that facetious remark, Beekay.
