RadFordee 68
My 7 year old granddaughter has just started brownies this week, which got me to thinking of my own time there. If i recall correctly we had to have six items in our dress pocket at all times which were checked every week by brown owl, these being a pencil, paper, a piece of string and a safety pin but i just can not remember what the other two were. Any ex brownies on here who may remember?.

RadFordee 68
@philmayfieldof course a hankie and money for a phone call, although we did not have a phone at home back then so wouldn't have been much good to me. Thankyou.

RadFordee 68
I did ask Alexa but her answer was to give me a recipe for making Brownies.
philmayfield 6,139
Yes, I’ve found her lacking on a few occasions. Has anybody tried saying ‘Where’s Brew?’
MRS B 521
Definitely a hankie. Just reminded me as well about going out and “be prepared”, my mum always used to say a bit later in life than the Brownies! Make sure you have decent underwear on in case you end up in hospital. I used to think, where do you think I’m going if I eventually end up in hospital and I’m sure that they’ve seen everything in hospital and would be more concerned with my well being. Beekay 5,150
Mrs B., I'm sure all mothers said that at some time and in some form. "Have yer got clean underwear on, you might hev an accident"!
