Rhymester 25
I saw a notice on the board in the Victoria Centre Market. It says that they are desperately seeking someone to sell mushy peas, seafood etc in the Market. Must say it's not been the same since the original stall closed down... Ashley 288
Worked on Victoria Centre Flats for well over 20 years starting in 1976, not in there every day every week but quite regular and often at the pea stall, as Rhymester said a different taste back then, mind you they said that re the tea at a certain cafe there, seems when the stall first converted to such somebody tapped into a handy copper pipe to get a water supply, was years later someone found out said pipe was a drop feed for the fire sprinkler system coming from a massive galvanised open top tank with years of pigeon droppings and the odd dead bird floating about in such!
