I'm looking at running a volunteer project where student volunteers will go out and talk to local residents (both students and non-students) on their doorsteps, to find out what they think about the area they live in. We'll find out anything they'd like to change and their thoughts on the relationship between students and non-students. We'll use the results to find out any issues - and look at solutions to solve them. I'm hoping it will make a positive difference and help improve the reputations of students in the community. I've set up a short 4-question online survey to ask students for their thoughts of the project, and I'd like to ask established residents the same. If good responses come back from both parties, I'll be able to use this data as evidence to some youth project funds I've applied to.
