  3. But looking at that google streetview pic earlier on in this thread, it shows that MM is directly next door to the NCT garage, so doesnt that mean that MM took over part of Hanger too?

  8. One of my friend's dads was also a deputy at the pit and used to 'stand the door' on a Friday night, much to the annoyance of all my friends because he knew we were all only 17 years old and wouldn't let the ones that he knew, in the place. We used to borrow an older friends ID then go into the ladies loos and pass it thru the window for the next one to use.
  9. My first day at Spring Street Infants school had me crying for the whole duration. I was a real Mummys girls and wouldn't let her leave me anywhere . I used to come home every lunchtime as i didnt want to stay 'school dinners' and then cry again when i had to go back. I remember we used to have a 'clay pit' in the classroom and I wouldnt go anywhere near it because i didnt like getting my hands dirty. I think for the first 2 or 3 years of my school life i must have cried every morning. Made my poor mum ill. She always says that when i had children of my own, she couldnt believe how hard i
  10. I think its the first clip that shows when 'Chairman of the Board' appeared there. I remember 'Heatwave' (Boogie Nights) headlining upstairs in the main hall too. It was always a difficult place to play and the acts had to be excellent to warrant even a glimmer of a round of applause from the expectant crowd
  11. Thanks jackson , I love watching these old clips. Not seen myself yet but he says there are a few more to come !! Merry Christmas to you too
  12. If anyone used to visit Hucknall Miners Welfare Welbeck Suite in the late 70s then take a look at this and the 5 videos related to it and you might see yourself!!
  13. Im not a fan of Christmas. The build up is expensive then when the day comes, all we do is the same as any other sunday. I havent sent cards for a few years now and those i receive tend to get put in a pile rather than on the shelf. Having said that, I do think a lot has to do with who you are with at the time. My new partner loves Christmas and calls me a Bah humbug. We have got a few family parties to go to this year (his family) and I have to admit to actually looking forward to it a little bit - in fact I've actually bought some cards this year and even got a tree up. Went to Birmingham
  14. we always go to he Birmingham one - really good
  15. Been here a few times, the food is amazing and the steaks to die for. Its in the old Elite cinema building (next door to Gatecrasher nightclub) and if you sit upstairs you can still see the original cinema ceiling.

  19. Does anyone have a photo of the inside of the restaurant at Boots (now Zara) on High Street Nottm. My grandad used to take me there for my tea most saturdays and it always seemed so large and very posh. It would have been in the mid 60s.
