  1. Wouldn't it be fantastic if County could find that bit extra to take them through to promotion this season, Beefsteak. If they did I'd be a little sad that my Uncle Harry, who was a massive County fan, didn't live long enough to see it. He was, like yourself Beefsteak, a real fan who paid his money and time when they struggled near the bottom. County v Forest in the Championship sounds just fine to me.
  2. My first car was a big maroon coloured Vauxhall Wyvern. It had one long seat in the front as well as the back. It was really spacious and a great car to drive. trevorthegasman, I had to laugh at your comment regarding the tarpaulin.
  3. denshaw, it was 'Youth Of Today'. One of the greatest ever intro's has to be 'Silver Machine' by Hawkwind. How do you get the video clips on here, do you have to be signed up to 'You Tube'?
  4. Trevorthegasman, thanks for your post. What lessons did Mr. Walker, Humphries, and Medley take. Was there four House's, Bosworth, Pear and ?. When you mention the 'Bullring, is that another name for Trent Pool?. I was made House Captain in my last year at Trent Bridge and I can remember having to make my first report to the whole school in Assembly. I was so nervous it's a wonder they didn't hear my knees knocking in the Meadow Boys Club...lol
  5. Nice one, mick2me.I was thinking to myself, as I read Compo's post, that she would have got on well with Mighty Fine and then burst out laughing when I read your post.
  6. I'd spotted that it was an old thread also, Stu but compo seemed to be having such a whale of a time with the subject that I ignored it.
  7. National Coal Board Trainee's At Hucknall, Nottingham 1957
  8. I have a group photo of National Coal Board Trainee's, that includes my brother, at Hucknall pit in 1957 but I don't know where to put it (steady). If anyone's interested in it then let me know which topic I should enter it into please.
  9. I can just imagine that today, mick2me, sending my kids to school with the Old English Sheepdog....lol Trevorthegasman, it's true what you say. Eight year old kids today are so much more mature than we were at that age.
  10. What songs do you like that have a great music intro before the vocal comes in. A few that comes to mind are 'Gimme Shelter' by The Rolling Stones, 'Bohemian Like You' by Dandy Warhols and 'Pretty Vacant' by The Sex Pistols.
  11. It's good to know that you're ok Trevor after all these years. I went to a Forest game with my sons and for some reason decided to go through the turnstile on the far right of the main office. I could have gone through one nearer but didn't. As I went to hand my ticket over the man said "Michael Booth" and I recognised him straight away as David Humphries. Can you remember him?. Why did I choose that turnstile?. Strange, isn't it. I'm writing my life story and would appreciate any memories of our time at Trent Bridge, good or bad. I'm also trying to remember our teachers. The ones I can rememb
  12. The only thing that I can remember about going to Arkwright School is going through the arched entrance and turning left into the classroom. I also remember how the classroom had a strong 'wood' smell.
  13. I can remember having a big spoon of malt every day as a little kid. I don't remeber the radio being on though..!!
  14. meadows/broxtowe gel, I thought it was only Simon Cowell who wore his trousers up to his chest.....lol
  15. Hello Trevor, it's good to have you on here and I look forward to reading your posts.
  16. meadows/broxtowe gel, yes, it is on London Road and the first street is Waterway Street. Looking at Cliff Ton's Google map it looks like the end part, to the right of the school building, has been demolished.
  17. You sound a right Rock & Roll girl, Pixie...lol. I see from your profile that you like Rockabilly. It's great music and I play it a lot. At the moment I'm making an MP3 and have about 130 songs so far.
  18. Pixie, what are you doing getting up at 0600 on holiday....or had it been a great night and you were just thinking of going to bed...lol
  19. Trevorthegasman, did you go to Trent Bridge Boys Senior School? Pop Williams was certainly a character but you can't always say what you want to say.
  20. Nice photos, Pixie. I always think it's so romantic being with a loved one as the sun sets. RGR, did everyone leave when you walked in....lol. It looks a nice place though. jackson, It was just how the camera caught the moment and not me being hesitant. Or I could have been concerned about my Mum eating all the soup...lol.
  21. Quite a collection there, firbeck. A couple of weeks ago I found these two old bus tickets. I've noticed that one of mine has 'City Of Nottingham Trans' whereas firbeck's ticket's of the same type have 'Nottingham City Trans'.
  22. My first holiday abroad was to Palma, Majorca with my Mum and Dad when I was 14 years old. The photo shows my Mum and I having lunch in Palma.
  23. I should have said 'Your mother-in-law's friend'.
  24. Compo, to use 'innit' as you describe is just the dialect you use for 'isn't it'. Nothing wrong with that. What I refer to is when people say 'innit' after every sentence when it has no relevance to what they have just said and they go on repeating it throughout their conversation.
