Where would I find details of a World War 1 death while in military service? I have been looking at my Fathers mothers side of the family. His mothers maiden name was Cooper. We have always known that she had a previous marriage to a man named Prince before she became a Harvey. (My father had a half brother). It was a short lived marriage with a very quick divorce in around 1917-18.One thing has led to another and I have discovered that she had an earlier still marriage. I am not quite sure why nothing is known about this as there is nothing 'funny' about it that needs to have been kept secr

Well while in Long Eaton today I nipped into Carphone Warehouse. Apparently the best mobile internet provider is 3. He explained that unlike any other mobile service 3 has 2 signals - one for phones and a separate one for internet which gives them the strongest signals.. They also have the best coverage. They are also the cheapest. I think I am just gunna to keep me desktop. Can yer make it battery powered as well as wireless so I can shove it round on a trolley?

That's apparently called downgrading. Downgrading to Windoze 7 has its problems. Google 'downgrading to Windows 7' I have read enough to convince me that I DO NOT want Windoze 8

Surely you mean Windows 8 comes with Office 2013 pre-loaded? Puzzled as to what you are saying - 'Hewlett Packard do not provide W8 complaint software'? The laptop I am looking at is Hewlett Packard and it has Windoze 8 on it

Reason I ask is because if I buy a new laptop it is going to come with Windoze 8 on it. Can you install older software to run with it? In particular Office 2003

Thats OK I am not getting at you. I appreciate the advice. Its just that 3 are an extremely sore point with me at the mo'. If you ever have occasion to have any dealings with them never take for red anything they say on the phone. They say whatever is necessary to make everything hunky dory, and say 'yes that payment has closed the account'. Then they send you another bill. So you ring them and they then deny that the previous conversation ever happened. This time they are getting a cheque and a letter in writing with a threat of legal proceedings, sent by recorded delivery. I have read many o

Yes I did say PAYG. I wouldn't deal with 3 if they were the last company on the planet to deal with! Try closing an account with them - long after the end of the contract has ended. I am about to threaten legal action with them - I keep giving notice close the account but they just keep further demands for money. Just look at the many online reviews concerning them. I am by no means the only disgruntled customer.

What is the best way to get mobile internet on a laptop? Wireless at home no problem but what if I want to go out with it? I have never owned a laptop before and I am thinking of buying one. I have previously built computers for myself successfully so I will know what you are talking about (I think)

What really amuses me about people from Dudleoiy, and it seems specific to Dudleoiy, is that are not happy to just tell you they come from Dudleoiy, they have to say 'I come from Dudleoiy - in the West Midlands'. As if yow could come from anywhere else talking loiyke that!

Hmmm. I have also seen another reference to a Mary Harvey in Worksop

The cert that we thought was wrong (and I found out before I was likely to receive it, definitely wrong) the GRO couldn't find so they refunded my money. The Mary Harvey I was looking for was born 1864 and I found one that died in Nottingham aged 80 that tallied so that is the one I sent for. She turns out to be a widow of Alan Harvey of Bulwell. Slim chance she died after 1969.
