Margie..in my youth i was a ''dedicated follower of fashion'' Winkle Pickers''...Beatle Jacket''...Hipsters''...White Socks''...Tie pin thru collar''....Cliff Richard shirt..ala expresso Bongo'''...slim Jim tie''..Pin Stripe suit'' etc...... However as i got older developed my own style and only wore what suited me....but every now and then something comes along that catches my fancy..and i go for it.......in this case ''Skinny jeans'' feel great..just love em........never too old to ''Strutt''......lol

Thought mine were Brew......but bought four pairs about a year ago.....they feel really good on......and MRS says they suit me...so now only wear 'Skinny's'''........need some new specs...thinking of getting either ''Buddy Holly's'' or ''Michael Caine's'' to hide the massive bags under me eyes.........lol
  5. Funny day today.........decided we need some new Garden furniture......went to JTS in Hucknall.....very sparse inside...and very limited on Garden furniture......so left without a purchase.... Thought we'd try Argos in Bulwell...closed...think finished... Oh well.....need an eye test and some new specs.......went to Tesco in Bulwell for Vision Express.......not there any more finished....... Makes you wander where all this is going to end....... Funny i mentioned my old mate yesterday.......bumped into his wife and Grandaughter having coffee in Bulwell this morning...and she reminded me its been 5 years since Harry passed......only seems like yesterday....knew him all my life...... Anyway went to kiss her and told her ''NO YOU GET TOO PASSIONATE'' AS I RECALL''......''But when Donna kicks me out i'm still moving in.'''.....lol..........even the Grandaughter laughed...lovely lady and great to see her........known her since Infant school........
  8. Men...wearing hat indoors.......don't know why but to me it shows bad manners.......even more so if its a Baseball Cap....... On the same subject.....what happened to 'flat caps'' the working mans favourite...? I wear a 'flat cap' for cycling sometimes.....and very occasionally my Trilby when going out.....which i always ''Doff'' to the ladies Men wearing Flip flops and Sandals.... 3/4 length trousers...they look stupid... Baseball caps...Ban em all.........lol

Dexys had an Irish air about them...Kevin Rowland's the lead singer Parents were Irish.........i had a lovely Irish Aunt (from Cork) married to my Uncle John....she took all the leg-pulling from all the family.....non more so than at one of the familys birthday celebrations upstairs at the Highbury pub in Bulwell... When she fell down the stairs at the end of the night and all the family sang to her while laughing........''Come on Eileen''.....the taxi's waiting.........turned out later she had broke her Ankle.......God bless her....... We talk about Skeg in a derogatory way same as some people talk about Bulwell.........mostly tongue in cheek......but for most of us Skegness has great memories of times past with our Parents even Grandparents...and as RR says weekends and day trips with our mates as Teenagers.......then taking our own children....... There's just sumat comforting about the place......it feels like a second home town.........

  20. Loved my 'White sports Coat''.......went to Farrands/Marsdens xmas do'' in it about 1963...at the Sherwood rooms''.......spilt 'Whisky' all over it.......one side of it stayed stiff forever even after having it cleaned........wouldn't mind getting another...but where would i go IN IT?........
