  3. Sadly Jill my sister passed away 7 years ago ,she would have loved the forum,miss her terribly.

Its not Su Pollard she was in my younger sisters class almost all through junior school,my sister was born in september 1949 I was born in 1947.My daughter used to work at the theatre royal and concert hall and spoke to Sue on several occasions she speaks very fondly of Berridge and the junior headmaster Mr Griffiths she was as nutty then as she is now.   9. Hubby had the box set brought for Father's Day ,one of those rare shows you can watch again and again.

  12. The only place I didn't go in was the pawn brokers,two years after I left the school it was changed to infant and juniors only.We girls from Bentinck used to go into the church at christmas I once had to recite a verse from the pulpit.

  15. Thats it,looks like it should have had a tower,in the building next to it they used to have a saturday night do for youngsters and have live bands on,many a happy night spent there.
  16. Sorry if this has been done before but what was the name of the church on the opposite corner to Bentinck Girls School and why was it pulled down.

  18. When standing on market street about 3/4s of the way up (face the theatre) on your right is a sandstone coloured building with balconys on a upper floor and at the bottom are some railings painted white now over the years its been pubs of some sort or other but what was it originally ?
  19. I worked flat locking at Beals on Peveril Street then it was changed to Marathon ,used to put gussets in knickers and lace on vests.Used to have some great works outings and christmas do"s.Back breaking work at it an day long .

  22. Tesco in bulwell have taken out some of their aisles and shelving ,don't think it will be long before it will be half /halve the shop it was.
