  1. It's now 00.15 and only my moniker is showing on 'who's online', so I'll say good night and God Bless to anyone who tunes in. XX
  2. One tries to create a good impression and improve ones status on NS. Anybody can say crap ! Rog., if your'e gonna electrify, make sure it's about 50,000 volts.
  3. Get yerself a very large, hungry savage dog Rog. Edit. I read somewhere that if you could get a dollop of lion faeces and spread that around, it would solve the problem.
  4. I used to drive one like that for MAKEMSON, when I worked part time for them. I did a colliery run from top of St.Albans road, via Bestwood road to Calverton colliery. I've also worked as a conductor on their Bulwell market to Bestwood village, on Saturdays and Sundays. I'm fairly sure that was a lowdecker with the long bench seats and gangway down the starboard side.( the one in Oz's link).
  5. I don't have a greenhouse or a shed, but have managed to successfully start off some tomato seeds that I've had wrapped up for nearly two years. As it's my first time, I'm looking to Mrs.B to guide me along. I believe they may be some type of Beefsteak toms. Edit. Should'nt be on this thread I know, but who's watching.
  6. And then operating on arms and legs, all before 09.00. Wonder what he does in his spare time. That's when he's not rebuilding buses or cycling all over the countryside.
  7. @plantfit, Rog, remind me please, of the name of that other transport museum up near Doncaster way. I believe you've been there afore. B.
  8. When I worked at SPD, we used to deliver Birds Eye to the Chateau. They used to advertise "Home Apple pie" etc., but we delivered it in frozen trays, uncooked. When the trade descriptions act came in they removed the advert and just put on the menu, "Home cooked". nb. I believe the range was called Top Tray and was Birds Eye catering range.
  9. Well when you find one, send me one .!
  10. @IAN FINN, at first it were Birds Eye frozen foods then on to general deliveries in a 10 pallet Ford truck with sliding side panels.
  11. I've delivered to that shop, back in the 70s, when I worked at SPD Ltd, Glaisedale drive.
  12. It arrived safely today Rog ! Certainly made my day. I have driven this route. Cannot thank you enough. I.O.U. one. B.
  13. All I'd like to find is a bloody pork pie that's still got jelly in! Fed up with the crap they sell down here.
  14. They did'nt do badges when we were there Kath. They were'nt around then.
  15. In that case, bollocks to it. I'll stay off !
  16. Can you not take a joke Brew?
  17. Think there might one or two on here like that.
  18. I reckon you two are embarking on a Hog rehabiltation and repatriation programe between you. I'm sure I've read about you both in "Hog Breeders Monthly". MrsB., I'm trying your tip of sowing some saved tomato seeds from fresh toms. Never tried it afore so don't know what will happen. Will have to ask your advice if nowt happens.x
  19. A few years ago, before we bought the random number machine, we had one old lady who called the numbers by drawing tiles out of a bag. She would often pull a number out, look at it then check her own card and say "I don't like that one" and proceed to put it back and grab another. I kid you not. She did'nt last long as a caller. She is still a regular player though at the age of 96. !!!
  20. Nonna, we also have a weekly bingo night every Tuesday. We pay £3.50 each. We play 6 full house games to win a fiver with th exception of the snowball which has to be won within a certain amount of numbers. This is a rolling amount if not won, then the prize goes up the following week adding an extra number. The other 6 games consist of...Any line, First 5, 1.2.3, 3.2.3, 321, the winner of these games gets a choice on the goodies trolley. I always choose, a tin of taters or soup, something savoury rather than sweet ( I'm diabetic ). We used to draw tiles out of a bag but we've invested in a R
  21. Well done Rog., another superb change over. Do you get the transfers online or have you a supplier? Your window sill must be getting pretty full by now. Perhaps Siddha could make you a display shelf from his garden bench, then he could buy a new one ! Nice to hear that Uncle Trogg also has a passion for models too. Me, I just don't have room where I live. All my tools, including elctrical ones are all in the community shed and have been there since we moved in back in 2005, ( although I do check on them periodically ). Carry on the great work gentlemen and don't forget the woode
  22. Tell you what Siddha, I don't want you to feel left out. Next time I do a quiz night, I let you know. Consider it an open invitation to join us. I might even send you some of the questions for you to answer, while you are sitting on your garden seat with a cup of tea/coffee. I feel sad when one posts on here or locally, yet does'nt get any response. It makes you wonder if it's worth bothering. ( I love to get interaction or indulge in friendly banter on here with fellow N.S.s.
