  9. I remember Briddocks! The building with the pointed roof? They stocked everything! Floorspace had no premium. Wasn't there also a shop just up from there that sold medals & Militaria ? Very narrow but running parallel with Parliament St?
  10. Moulin Rouge was directly facing Victoria Station? I also recall a very similar place just down from the Peacock Pub, only section opened, a news agents, always wondered what it was previously?. Wasn't there also a Hi-fi shop roughly facing the Peacock in the Early 90's?

  13. Sorry Fly ..missed the David Clayton reference Bilborough..don't know the area at all. The Free appreciation society meet up's were somewhere around Midland Station.

  15. Fly2..yes I have it great read & the newer hardback version beautifully presented, signed by David Clayton & Simon Kirke with the later addition of Paul Rodgers. Also have some of the Appreciation Society Fanzines.
  16. Remember John Shaw doing the Folk show on Trent before Castle Rock with Graham Neale. One show featured an interview with an author presumably David Clayton being a Nottingham man about a book about Paul Kossoff. Don't recall it coming out. Many years later morphed into Heavy Load a book about Free.

  21. Wow Dj360..would have liked to have been at some of those gigs.. Especially the Tull one ! Saw them in 1976 ! The odd period!☺ Then again the Broadsword album..liked that one and also crest of..Mr Anderson's favourite.. Purely by chance, In the mid eighties I popped into a country pub in Cambridgeshire and Mr Anderson was doing a impromptu solo set ...penny whistle, tapping spoons along with the flute & guitar... pure genius!

  23. I'd give them slightly more rope than that, gave Donnington a miss for the that very reason!, got dragged along to Milton Keynes ...even worse! Rain & Mystery Song though ..great stuff..two guitar riffing at it's best !
