Cliff Ton 10,479
It looks strange now from the rear (Wolllaton Street).
Rescatorette 3
My wife has some pictures taken at Carrington Lido when she was a child - I'll search them out and see if there's anything of interest. I lived near Highfield's Lido, so went there regularly. That would be great - thank you, any joy yet?
Rescatorette 3
#51 Circular Carpet is by Marion Dorn - she is a fabulous designer and the Midland Hotel Morecambe now have repros in the reception area.
Cliff Ton 10,479
Looking round the Talbot House site, things are changing. This was the Art Deco building last year; At the moment it's been wrapped up. From the Wollaton St side last year, it looked like this; That's now buried behind this.

loppylugs 8,429
Interesting old thread. I'd missed it somehow. Too bad that photobucket has done such a demolition job on it.
Cliff Ton 10,479
This is the end result of the Talbot House rebuild. It actually doesn't look too bad; they've retained the important bits. Pity about the flags advertising students.
