raynorscruples 2
Hi Does any one have a street map that shows the above location in Hyson Green around 1880, seen some photos of the area in 1960. Any help much appreciated. Paul
Cliff Ton 10,483
Buried under the site which became Hyson Green flats, and now buried under ASDA.
The Pianoman 1,535
Seeing that map has just prompted me to ask a question I have been meaning to ask for a while. Does anyone know where Harold Road was? My Grandmother would have lived there in the 1910's until her parents died, both by 1918. She was born at 40 Belton Street which still survives but I have no idea where Harold Road was. I would have thought it was in the area of that map above but I can't see it. Cliff Ton 10,483
Harold Road was very much in Radford rather than Hyson Green. Off Hartley Road almost opposite the Children's Home.
DJBrenton 738
Harold Rd was off Hartley Rd. This is all that's left. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.9606208,-1.174244,3a,75y,348.56h,79.52t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sa7ojcG4yqvkmBXOeUnaYGA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

NewBasfordlad 3,599
Seeing Forest Road on the Hyson Green map bought back some memories, went there in the 60s on a college trip to Metropolitan Gas Meters. All the meters were made by hand the skill of those guys with the old fashioned soldering irons was something to see.
