  1. When I took the photos at the 3 ponds today I saw this, it is parked behind the 3 ponds I think a local coach company runs from there. Not the best of photos but it seems to have a reg plate on it, but it looks to be older than a d reg which would be 1966
  2. The original copy on my computer zooms ok, it must be something to do with photobucket. this is a quick screenshot.
  3. This is the area in 1895. if you copy the image to your computer it zooms in quite clear.
  4. The buildings are still up for sale, someone has applied for planning permission for student accomodation on castle gate, I think it is the wrong part of the city centre for student accomodation. http://plan4.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/WAM/pas/showCaseFile.do?councilName=Nottingham+City+Council&appNumber=12%2F01688%2FPFUL3
  5. There is a large stone pillar, or gate post to the left of the 3 ponds pub, would this have been part of the gateway leading to Nuthall temple? The pillar is visible on google street view.
  6. Bingham police station is on Grantham road, would this have been part of the A52 years ago, as the dual carriageway part from Saxondale island looks newish, although it has been like that as long as I can remember. https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Bingham,+UK&hl=en&ll=52.949284,-0.944009&spn=0.003711,0.008798&sll=-25.252954,-64.716241&sspn=11.393118,18.017578&oq=BIN&t=h&hnear=Bingham,+Nottinghamshire,+United+Kingdom&z=17&layer=c&cbll=52.949283,-0.946052&panoid=XgN_3fAqaXwHqZS0EQwlHw&cbp=12,215.93,,0,4.57
  7. The city council are now going to remove a lot of mature trees, from 2 streets in lenton and replace them with smaller ones, cost £100,000. Has no-one told the council that the whole country is struggling financially.
  8. The city council are proposing to spend 4 million pounds on Highfields park as well, according to the NEP today.
  9. Google overhead cable theft and you will see how common it is. People have been killed whilst trying to steal live cables, but it is never going to stop it. A metre of overhead copper cable probably has a scrap value of about £5.00 so whilst they think that they can get a few metres of cable and sell it on, it will continue to be stolen, there is no deterrent.
  10. With the price of copper at an all time high, It dont make sense, plus all the delays once it is finished due to cable theft.
  11. What happened to the high profile manager that they were looking to get?
  12. All these people with endless amounts of money, what do they actually know about football, they have just sacked the manager a day or so after buying the club, it is hardly the best start.
  13. I was out around oxton, southwell, halam and other small villages today, all of the ditches at the side of the roads were overflowing, water lane in oxton was flooded at 1 end, a good name for a street. I had to go down a lane near Brackenhurst college, and had to go through 2 parts of the road that was flooded, I would think it is now impassable. so much for the English summer.
  14. If that is a photo of the previous unseen station, it was found in less than 5 days since I posted the link to the aerial photo site, not bad when you consider that many people interested in local railways have been searching for an image for years. All credit should go to Nottstalgia.
  15. It sold for £226,000 according to the NEP website, thats quite a lot more than the guide price of £175,000
  16. This is 1 of the photos, showing Wilford power station and Clifton colliery.
  17. The aerial photos on the link I posted are all old images, mostly pre war
  18. There are a few aerial photos of Nottingham here. http://www.britainfromabove.org.uk/browse
  19. This is another photo, probably took just before the photo Kev posted.
  20. I copied this 1 from a dvd that is made up of old picture postcards, would they be subject to copyright? as there is lots of old pictures on the disc that I could post on the site.
  21. I can remember when you could look at the last few weeks of the evening post, on Forman Street, I always had a look when I was placing an ad, they also had various photos on show, the post looked massive then compared to what is printed now.
  22. I think RGR wants to go into advertising, as I have never seen Bulwell look as bright. did he bring the sunshine?
