yes we were all moved out to the houseing estates sooner or later, we moved from bloomsgrove st to clifton around 55 the ellis twins from a few doors down moved to broxtowe, wasn,t poundalls yard just above the brassy.

i remember clayton square close to what we called the brassy rec. in radford. terrible living conditions even back then in the early fifties think i mentioned it on another thread "did you live in radford" block of tenaments built around a courtyard one tap in the middle to serve all.

dad spent many a happy hour in there at the buff lodge, late forties early fifties

my memories no better! cant even be sure of the year, remember the bus and being searched also the crowd at the bottom of stamford st which was cordoned off. some people went up the belvedaire and waited it out, i went home! the walk back to clifton across the hapeny bridge and through wilford is what i remember most. think it was saturday no allnighters on a sunday as i remember

yes worked for costain the people who built the albany, i left only two weeks before the scaffoling came down and almost demolished mothercare

remember the towers going into broardmarsh and of course the sawyers arms across the road. in bygone years they were the hang outs of the american & canadian servicemen, regular fights according to my parents
