Not a good day today....have to clean out teh under-sink cupboard. Does anyone else have one like this or is it just me?!

When they first built Bestwood Park Drive we used to go full tilt down the hill towards 'The White Hart' pub on Mansfield road on our trolleys. Many a bump and graze were had on that slope but I'll bet we travelled faster than any car can today!

It's that time of year once again. Here's one I finished last night. My sister gave it to me - after two days of work I could see why!

Day one of my enforced lack of excercise. No cycling, no wood-cutting and worst of all....no naughty bits! I have an appointment with a doctor on Friday for Prostate Cancer tests.

Ooh! A giraffe

I have a new scratter, PP. It consists of a length of tree trunk with cross hatchings carved into one end. I drilled through the other end and put a length of broom handle through to make a "Ponch" type apple crusher - works too!

Bottled a gallon of apple wine yesterday. At bottling it tasted like a strong, still cider.

You know that smell you get down the alleys alongside Chinese takeaway shops? Our home made wine tastes just like that - but it is very, very strong!

Mrs Compo called me a miserable sod for not wanting to put Xmas decorations up until just before the day. However, I don't think I'm doing so badly, just take a look at the dwaves: "Dwarf contentment seemed to be at an all-time low yesterday as a leaked government report revealed that six out of seven dwarves were not Happy. However, a later paragraph in the same report suggested that only one out of seven dwarves was Grumpy, leading psychologists to conclude that perhaps as many as five dwarves were neither Happy nor Grumpy, but somewhere in between."

Accrington Stanley and Buckie Thistle Football clubs. Train carriages that were not permanently attached to a "Set" and could be added on to a train on busy days, to avoid overcrowding. I remember the days when flying was a pleasurable experience. That's all gone now with the high security at modern airports, cramped seating and terrible aircraft 'meals'.
