Did you hear Pixie run to the twisted wheel club in Manchester would be November 1964 a bunch of us from Nottingham, three or four Vespa's and I rode on the back of my brother's Lambretta along with "Grey Wally" in his minivan. Got to Buxton and it started snowing. Had a cup of tea in the cafe there and decided we press on. Got on a section of road called Long Hill and it was pure ice, so we had to turn back into buxton. Parked the scoots in a pub backyard and someone told us there was a dance at a place in the middle of nowhere called Peak Forest. Danced the night away till 11:30, got on the
  2. If you like spectacular scenery, Grassvalley is a great place to live. First settled by Cornish gold miners in the 1850's (yes you can still get Cornish pastries here) My eldest daughter moved here over 10 years ago so I get there quite often. Close by is the beautiful Donner Pass and Lake Tahoe, just down the hill, is Sacramento. If you love driving convertibles or harley's, Highway 49 is one great road to drive south to Yosemite which has more spectacular scenery. The downtown Grassvalley, Nevada City still has many of the old houses and buildings renovated with beautiful restored homes. Use

  4. My first sets of wheels were three Vespa Scooters i had including a fabulous Vespa 180 SS Moto Baldet Luxe.When i got back to Canada in 69,my first car was a 1967 Pontiac two door Parisienne fast back.One big step up from the Vespas,but them scooters never gave me any Trouble.

A lot of the Nottingham Mods used to go to Skegness on bank holidays in the mid sixties myself and a few other guys would make the long run to Great Yarmouth on our Scooters,even the Mini boys were there one time.To this day that road is still a slow run.Went to Brigthon once in an Austin Champ Jeep painted bright yellow (yellow Rolls Royce)with some guys the owner was Carling from Basford some crazy days then.
  6. I still can remember at Bulwell Common kiss gates watching the A3 Pacifics on the (South Yorkshireman) and the (Master Cutler) in the mid 50s.And the Old D11 GC Director class B1, K3, and V2.In them days there was a Train every few minutes.
  7. One of the owners always drove full size American /Canadian Pontiac or Chevy car,when over in 1970 it was a silver 1969 RHD Chevy Impala.There bus fleet was always up to date with the latest models and were kept in immaculate condition.

  9. One of the best places to Live in the US is Crass Valley,Nevada City in North california in the foot hills of the High Sierras.
  10. Thats my Brother Randy on is Lambretta in the mid 60s,they are still trying deport him back to Canada.Some of the others are Sam Salt,Sailor, Dave Small.Knocker, Pete Lemon.

  12. Back in the mid 50 I remember paddling in the Leen at the bogs in a new pair of wellies,when i stood on a broken beer bottle.Glad i had the boots on. Could be a dangerous place to paddle with bare feet.
