  3. Married the wife and I, also was a member of the club and church early 60s played soccer for St Saviours youth team later called Newbridge(pub next door) as there was two teams at the church,ring any bells...
  4. Yes Mike I'am not bad as I can focus back and bring the memories back ,living so far away might help. Let me give you all a tip my retired doctor gave me, folic acid tablet 5mg a day helps. First car was 1939 Austin big 7(4 door) purchased for 7pound 10 shillings from a car yard in Basford it was hidden under a tarpulin so not to lower the yards standards great buy we used to park it top of Queens Drive facing the station did not move much we (the boys) could not afford the 5 bob a gallon. Now have a beautiful xj40 JAG sov 4.0lt 1990 not a bit of rust will not take it out in the rain and of course no salt on the roads...
  7. I have taken the driving test twice and passed both times reason lost red book in Australia so had to take it again in 1979,looking at the green licence in a plastic wallet as I write runs out june 2014

  11. Hi new to the site but have visited over the last few years,Trevor's the name,Atlas Terrace ,London Rd,Trent Brige,married at St Saviours as were my parents Ted & Phoebe Millington, been in Australia as "10 pound pom" since 1970.Hope I can add to the memories....
  12. What happened was Green went to Eillis and Humphries(tall skinny with glasses) took over as acting headmaster .Baines came in as Michael and I left.And yes you had a big loss there RIP....

After Mr Walker (treen on bonk) you had Mr Medley(Moonfleet)Humphries took over as headmaster when Green went to Ellis(thank god)Mr Moss science followed by Chalkley a Mr Horton was there at the start I think .the ,how about Jock Anderson good at grabbing you by the side of the ears,chap we called :"lawman" as he looked like T.V. charcter,young chap Mr Holden (met him living in w/bridg when I was there.I was in metalwork can't remember his name but did not want Piggy so metal it was.Lets see if you remember this --Cricket Bos v Pear at the Bullring you giving me stick for cutting ball thru

I remember the infants side with the toilets across the yard and the Head mistress(Mrs bell)dying circa 1951/52 a large brass vase stood outside her office.The juniors was the two storey side and I think the headmaster was Mr Williams with Mr Spencer being the English teacher this is all circa 50/55.My mother took me to school on the first day(5) and after that I was on my own although if was only a couple of 100yds down Kirkewhite St, had to laugh about the article in the NEP which said an 8 year old had managed to leave school and go home on her own, outcry,how times change...
  15. Michael I'am never shy to say what I think,these days he would no doubt be "inside" and half the teachers would be on assault charges I'am not making a judgement here but stating a fact as I see the present world..

Mike, Bunbury W.A. was named after a Lt Bunbury R.N. and one of the first settlers in the early days sent by the East Indian company was one of the "Clifton Family" and I know quite a few of them in fact just outside of Bunbury is the same townsite of Clifton so you see the connection with Nottingham is closer than you think..
  17. Thanks Mike and Micheal, I'am sure Micheal would know my name is Millington,I have followed this site for a couple of years before joining and hope to add to the memoirs over the next few years(god willing) from afar although we will be back in June for a few weeks going around the UK..

Hi I was a member of the club in the late 50s and also had school music lessons there with the infamous "Pop Williams" I remember being in a skit where my lines were "beans and potato's" called out at the correct moment along with 3 others calling out their lines(if that makes sense) little did I know I would later become a life member of the Bunbury Musical Comedy Group playing lead roles and directing musicals,although my dear wife comes from Rugeley she lived with her grandmother on Bunbury St it's a funny world...

Hi everyone my name is Trevor(Pearson house) from Atlas Terrace the meadows and I'am in Michael's (Bosworth house)photo and I.m on the front row direct in front of Michael.Have been in Bunbury W.A. since 1970 apart from coming back and running the "Honeycoombe Cafe " West end arcade IN 79/80 but thats another story.
