I don't know whether this is your thing but I have this piece of information. He is not related to me but he was my grandmother's first husband. I know little more about him than what is here other than the rest of the info from CWGC and a little bit that was in Nottingham Post. He was in a bantam battalion and was apparently the first Notts and Derby bantam to be killed.

@BeekayBarrie. Do you happen to know anything about an auctioneers in Lewes by the name of Wallis and Wallis? They do toy auctions and there is one tomorrow.. Mainly, are they reliable? They will post lots out or so it says on their website.

I've always thought that Suthull was the correct pronunciation used by older locals to Suthull. The locals that pronounce it South-well are immigrants to the area that think Suthull isn't snobby enough for them. Might be rong of course!

We moved to Eastwood in 1959. We would have been travelling to Nottingham and back. I don't remember any Guys although I am aware that MGO had them. They were wartime products.

Yes I remember them. B3 and C5 usually had that type due to them having the same start and end to their journeys but a different routes to get there. Both ran Nottingham to Brinsley by the same route but then one went to Alfreton direct whilst the other went scenic route via Westwood and Jacksdale. The clever people at Trent/Barton now have both routes with the same name plus the old B1 route from Nottingham to Ripley all with the same name - Rainbow 1.
