Where would we be without Music.hey Lizzie....my love of it started in the 50s.......listening to Mam and all her sisters........then came Elvis..Cliff and all the American stars....Sport and music were my two great loves...along with Girls and Dancing......amazing how we all recall the words from songs of more than 60 years ago.......life just wouldnt have been the same without Song and Dance........ Now pushing 80.....i still play my music for at least an hour most days...to say nowt of a little ''JIG'' around the room..... Oh what i'd give for one more Tuesday
  5. Playing Cricket for Padstow against a school in Broxtowe in the late 50s....the cricket ground was surrounded by houses..one of which was playing this song.very loudly....one of their Lads was hit on the head with the Ball.and got carried off while this song..was still playing..........

  8. This is very true Kev............i find that even health workers in many cases just know nothing about 'Laryengectomees'' the scariest thing is they dont realise i'm a Neck-Breather......

Wife tried to sort my prescriptions out today.......at the Doctors...something she has done for 5 years (since my Larengectomy )....our doc's have always been excellent,, however today was somewhat different......... They insisted they couldn't discuss this with her...... which i find crazy... They told her to get me to ring them.....a Laryengectomee cannot speak without an aid fitted and trying to talk on the phone and be understood is practically impossible......which the wife informed them of........ Next came the suggestion i send them a letter.......

  15. Lost my lovely neighbour a couple of weeks ago....and attended her funeral wednesday...... She was an ex pub landlady......so you can imagine she was a real character who took no Prisoners........she was without doubt the best neighbour Donna and i ever had..... Often bought her flowers and asked when am i taking you out?......i couldnt possibly repeat her answers........ God bless Kathleen...x

  23. 1960......What a year...left school...started Marsdens...bought all Cliff's records..(still got some)......Tuesday nights down Locarno...some great dancing as the floor undulated........other nights on George/Broad street? Coop club and more Dancing...Football on Thursdays and Sundays..Notts Corinthians (Redmayne and Todd) Thursday league and Coop Pathfinders Sunday league...plenty of dates..with girls in their 'Flat shoes'' and 'Flared skirts''.....lovely times...we thought they'd never end....we'd sing and Dance foreever and a day'' who sang that?..lol...
