  1. Good luck on Monday Col with your knee op...........i'm at Kings Mill tomorrow for more tests (in an unpleasant area) dreading it....... Have had another problem for about 6 months Chronic pain especially in both hands when i wake every morning.......however ive come across a medicine (Tablet) never heard of before called ''Zapain'.....within minutes of taking it the pain disapears......
  2. The 'Black Bottom'' i would doubt ever made it to Nottingham.........it began like lots of music and dance over in the states with ''African/Americans'' in the 20s...... However another Dance that certainly made it to Nottingham from the states was the ''Jitterbug''......Remember me Mam and all her sisters giving it some in the late 40s and early 50s......The Whites in America were doing something called the ''Lindy-hop''......the Africans laughed at this and said They look as if they've got the ''Jitters'' with a bug........... Just found this thread...love a bit of Jazz...although i'm no 'Aficenado' have always enjoyed it when i'm in the mood.......not Jazz clubs but thought i'd stick any Jazz favourites on this thread....... Used to enjoy the ''Bell'' sunday lunch-times plus a Pub one evening a week...on Toton Lane Stapleford...forgot its name.... I'm told even the 'Ruskies' enjoy ''Midnight in Moscow''

  17. If i don't laugh i'll cry..............my morning in Bulwell was a total disaster....not been for over a week so was looking forward to it........ Anyway whilst driving there my 'Speaking Valve'' fell out...Turned out i'd put the wrong one in......so now i'm Voiceless...but eh-ho i'll get by with a few bits of sign language....... Only just seen this video...........Found it fascinating...and the reasons for the building of Aspley estate and Old Bestwood estate i find heart rending............people in ST Anns and such areas were living in what we today would call squalor.....and these new built Council Houses were a blessing from above when the people started moving in in the 1930s..... Many people today knock our Council estates but never stop to think of their origins.....and the better lives it gave so many people...........
