  1. I could have included this enquiry into me blog but I’m after more green shield stamps to add to the collection…… Sat Navs? My daughter came around to see me yesterday to ask if I was ok she definitely wasn’t she’s missing her mum….. To the point…..she asked what I would like for a chrimbo present. I told her I would like a Satellite Navigation system for me Mobile home, it has to have EU mapping…. My question is which do I go for? I don’t want one at a silly price it has to be less than £150.. Bip.
  2. A year has passed and a lot of 2-4-1 meals have been eaten since the offer was announced….so whats up then Mick av ya dun it yet.? Bip.
  3. Took me a little time to figure out where we were... Some years ago I did exactly the same thing, well very similar. I fastened my camcorder to the dash of my car and filmed the journey from my old house in Chilwell to my mums house in wollaton going through Brancote village too, unfortunately I don’t have the tape anymore, I put the short film onto disc and now the disc for some reason won’t let me access the clip. Thanks littlebro Bip.
  4. Well, bu88er me for quoting too.......... That would be about the same time I had my tonsils out Frank? Well, Bu88er me...... Bip.
  5. I've never had any problems in what you were hinting at in your first post Baz.... Bip.
  6. Would it be practical to light up every crossing there is? Still say an audible sound would make people more aware of approaching tram/train. Bip.
  7. I too saw the report last night regarding the accident and I too concur with the fact that the crossing is not well lit but didn’t the accident happen during the day? May I suggest that there should be some sort of audible warning of a train/tram approaching. Bip.
  8. No 6203 Princess Margaret Rose built LMS Railway 1935 Bought by Billy Butlin in April 1963 after running 1.5 million miles in service mostly working the crack express trains between London and Scotland. Cosmetically restored at Crewe Works and taken by rail to Pwllheli where it arrived in May 1963. It was located next to the amusement park & boating lake. Butlins offered the loco on loan to the Midland Railway Centre (Butterley, Derbyshire) in April 1974 and work began (using volunteers from the railway) in January 1975. It was a long & laborious process that involved laying 500 yards
  9. Maybe I didn't make myself very clear, he was involved with the restoration of said engine. maybe it wasn't the Mary Rose but it sounded like it last night after I had four pints of brew. Will know more next weekend when i can play the videos. Taking empty oil wagans and returning with full ones was his day job. Bip.
  10. Have I mentioned the couple I sit with at the club, he was once an engine driver. I was talking to him last evening and apparently he has two videos of himself on the footplate of a Mary rose engine. I think it’s the Mary Rose, I’ll know better next week when he brings in the videos for me to copy onto disc. From what I could glean he delivered empty oil wagons up to Hull and brought back full ones. Bip.
  11. Until the truth comes out how this tragic accident happened one can only speculate. The lady in question may have been long-sighted or a little deaf. Last night just before my train was due there came a non stop train bound for London St Pancras. The platform announcer warned all those on the platform to stand well back from the yellow line. I was just a little to the right of the yellow line as I walked down the platform in a Nottingham direction when I glanced around to see this high speeder approaching some hundred yards away, I never heard it coming but then again I might be a little dea
  12. You have a point their Stu where do the likes of the hops and malt come from. I hope locally or not to far away. Until all the factors of producing a pint of beer are co-ordinated [sourced locally] one can’t really call a beer a locally produced product. I would imagine that rule goes for more or less everything one buys in a shop or supermarket. Take locally grown potatoes where dose the fertiliser come from also the rain that’s watered them how far has that travelled in a cloud. Bip.
  13. I could give you a straight answer red and say yes it is but that wouldn’t satisfy me. There’s no change in there, the beers still cold that hides the inferiority of it. I stick to drinking Guinness now. I did mention to the chairman about some hand pumps but got a distant look from him. I get the impression from the new steward he’s quite happy with the set up, well he would, less work for him. Wednesday nights are a joke, only a hand full get in as apposed to five or so years ago when it was packed. Last night it was ¾ full. Sunday is the only night now it gets busy and that’s only up
  14. I’m surprised you twitches aren’t beside your selves with delight on the proposed introduction of the Sea Eagle by the RSPB on the southeast coast of Norfolk. It once was a common sight but died out in the country many years ago. Farmers are showing concern because it has an eight foot wingspan and can take newly born lambs at ease. Government spokesman has said that farmers will be compensated for any lose of livestock. Reintroduction of sea eagle in Norfolk Link. Bip.
  15. I don't have a problem with my meagre set up.Thanks...Baz He's an old friend and for some reason he's changed his phone number and moved I beleive to Stapleford. As I said he had or still does have his own little business. He did or still does drive a blue Vauxhall Safira with a magnetic AV Connect sign on the passenger and drivers doors. Bip.
  16. Spent many happy hours in there. I beleive when Jeff [the original owner] sold out to the chap who once was the manager of the Vat and Fiddle they were broke into several times. If only I lived that side of the city....ummmmmmmmmmm Bip.
  17. I think you miss-understood me Kev. This is not a music or a band question. I'm looking for the number or better still the address of a chap who works on the side as a Audio and Visual sorter outer.....he comes to ones house if one is having problems connecting equipment up. He's not in the phone book for tax reasons Bip.
  18. Dose anyone know the number of a one man band outfit called AV Connect, better still does anyone know their address, I believe they operate out of a private house in Stapleford……? Bip.
  19. Don't tell me......more Green King brews......Abbot...Speckled Hen.....IPA.... Bip.
  20. Acording to wikipedia she isn't married. Bip.
  21. Maybe a yellow paper shortage.....just a thought. Pity there's not a plastic bag shortage because I've had my second charity bag this week. Bip
  22. Now then beefy mate remember you are married as such you shouldn’t be having those thoughts. For me its different I can, but only if she is single. Is she? Bip.
  23. Two years on and the levelled ground where the stadium and pub use to be is still a wilderness. Bip.
  24. If I recall and I read it somewhere that there use to be a brickyard at the bottom of skool lane? I could tell you a short story about eskdale park and what I saw once while walking the dog on there late one night a few summers ago.....Hippo girl that wasn't you was it lying on the grass bank this side of the allotments?. Bip.
  25. To be honest and I always am, I like a little more meat on the bone. Since experiencing a fuller woman for the first time in my life I’ve come to like a few extra pounds on a womans frame. Don’t get me wrong here but I loved my late wife to bits but she was and made a point of it to keep skinny, ate very little and exercised every other day in a gym I made for her in our spare bedroom. Personally I think with my wife it was a fashion thing, she liked her cloths, she would shop for them every weekend, regardless of the weather. So back to the topic thread…..Yes I did see Julia the other ni
