  1. I did eat some again this morning. It was just as disgusting but I'm sure it's doing me good. At least tomorrow will be a break with a full English!
  2. I think he’s related to Jesus.
  3. So that’s what Boris is going to tell us at 4pm. Plausible.
  4. BJ is going to talk to the nation at 4pm. I bet it won’t be good news. Must order more toilet rolls! If we can find the space for any more.
  5. I can agree with your last sentence. On your theory there’s a lot of hullabaloo over nothing too serious. I’m not taking any chances. I’m in the over 70 category so potentially more vulnerable. I’d rather die peacefully at home than gasping for my last breath in the QMC
  6. So alan s you’re saying the truth about Covid is being concealed throughout the world and the ruin to their economies is what they all want. They once used Christianity and the fear of God to control the population. I can only go on what I read and hear through the media although I do know of some people locally who are in isolation. You would seem to have have a better source of information.
  7. Didn’t Brian May use to live thereabouts as well?
  8. Roger Moore was my favourite. There were rumours that he lived in Notts at one time. East Bridgford perhaps?
  9. So all the patients clogging up the hospital beds are just pretending to be ill then?
  10. Nobody’s told him it’s safe to come out!
  11. When times were a bit depressing my father would say ‘this is nothing, we were at war with Germany for seven years’. I wonder if we’ll look back on the present situation similarly?
  12. We all get worries, moments of despair sometimes, but you just sort yourself out and get on with life.
  13. ......leave it for half an hour or so, chuck it in the bin!
  14. I think you’re right about them being in prison. They’ve just moved to another secure institution. I think it was a mistake to close the mental hospitals. Perhaps there were some people who shouldn’t have been there but there are people who need to be in a protective institution for the safety of themselves and others. I think ‘ care in the community’ was one of Tony Blair’s ideas.
  15. Beside Anti Semitism another topic of the day is ‘Mental Health’. Explain that one. It just used to be ‘pull yourself together’ or ‘take a grip of yourself’. Is this a subject that we have become more aware of? There used to institutions all over the country that housed people with mental problems. In the main they have been shut down. Are these people out in the community with the same problems they were being treated for inside or is it more prevalent in the general population, or have we become more aware of it as a problem generally?
  16. I'm a bit of a Philistine Barrie but it's my favourite with HP sauce!
  17. I’ve just checked on the Christmas cracker stock and find we have two left over from last year so we’re well covered. It’s going to be strange sitting at opposite ends of the dining table with empty places all around. No turkey needed to please the family because it’s ‘traditional’. Chop chips and beans and apple pie if I get my way! (which I won’t)
  18. He was indeed and his son Paul was ‘Mr. Magpie’.
  19. What’s the fuss about Anti Semitism? I’ve never come across it. We had many Jewish clients when I was an accountant and Jewish customers when I was in industry. We even did the audit of the Nottingham Hebrew Congregation on Shakespeare St. I knew Louis Levin, he was a client and his wife Sybil was a great charity organiser. Louis was quite orthodox. When he was chairman of Notts County his religion didn’t allow him to use transport on the sabbath so he would walk to and from Meadow Lane on a Saturday from his house on Adam’s Hill. When we lived on Park Rd. in Woodthorpe in the 60’s our next d
  20. I am a Tory. Right back to my Young Conservative days. I don't have much regard for the present bunch, especially the leader, but at the election it was a choice between the lesser of two evils. You can see what's happened to Corbyn now so the people were right to reject him. As has been said, these people are acting like complete morons but they do represent the attitude of a substantial number of the population.
  21. Some may be fined but they won't pay. There is a tremendous backlog in the court system and it could be 18 months before a hearing.
  22. It’s all clearly explained on the Notts CC website. The only ambiguity I can see is that you can meet up for exercise sessions in an indoor venue, which is not your house, although they advise that you shouldn’t! For what I saw online of the partying by young people last night, before the regs came in, I think a lot of people aren’t going to take a blind bit of notice and it’s impossible to police.
  23. We always have a full English on a Sunday morning. It’s a tradition! If only Little Chefs would come back and I could have an Olympic breakfast with a side order of beans.
  24. I made mine with the proper large oats. Not the nancy boy stuff. Didn’t decorate with anything as my last blood test told me to go easy on the sugar. I think I’ll bin it!
  25. As winter will soon be with us I decided to try some porridge for breakfast. It was absolutely disgusting but I pretended to enjoy it as my wife has bought me a one and a half kilo bag. No wonder the Scots are so bloody dour. I wonder if the birds will enjoy it?
