tomlinson 879
I recently read Dennis Skinner's book, 'Sailing Close To The Wind'. Whilst agreeing with some of what he says, he does come out to me as an inverted snob.

Robbie 39
Tomlinson, If you are looking for a book to read I can recommend by book of Nottingham 1938
tomlinson 879
Robbie - Thanks for the recommendation. I recently read Robert Harris's excellent book, 'An Officer And A Spy', about the Dreyfus case. Dealing with anti - semitism, it is a topical read and does not show France of that day in a good light. I think the only books I've read about Nottingham are those by Alan Sillitoe. Robbie 39
#111 Bubblewrap, Came across this book whilst doing a bit of dusting. I think it is the period you are interested in. Nottinghamshire In The Eighteenth Century by J.D. Chambers.
Bubblewrap 3,815
It's not a title I recognise. When was it published & by who? So as far as I know I don't have this book. And it would fit two Interests both Nottingham & eighteenth century. I do have a facsimiles of "Deering" published 1751(1970) and a Blackner 1815(1985)
