The Civic Society had plans for them to be installed across the city with the Evening Post underwriting the costs. After the Bailey Formans sold the Evening Post the new management quietly dropped the idea. Tug Wilson was always the most popular suggestion and I know that this was the cause of some exasperation amongst the snobbier elements of the Civic Society. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
siddha 825 Posted July 22, 2013 Report Share Posted July 22, 2013 Nice to see this. In the 1960s I was at Clarendon College with Dick Beckinsale before he went off to RADA. He was a great bloke and a terrific actor in the making.
