LizzieM 9,528
Michael, # 25 post ........ we've got similar problem right outside our gate, never witnessed anything like the torrents of water going down the road, just glad we live on a hill !
banjo48 928
Seems Arnold and Sherwood always seem to cop it when the rain is bad. I used to live on Coronation road Mapperley and we used to regularly get the road flooded even after the council had supposedly put new drains in to cure the problem, this would be in the 60's- 70's- 80's. Does anyone know if there was any problems on Burton road opposite the old Carlton le Willows school ? as my wifes brother has a house there but is currently on holiday in Spain. Be a nasty surprise to come home to !
carni 10,094
All back to normal this morning. The sun is shining again,We were luckier than a lot of people, our only lasting damage is a very battered garden. Most of our flowers are laying sodden on the ground around them and in the tubs they are all hanging limply over the sides. We live on a hill and it has its compensations at times like last night. We used to live at the Bottom of the same hill in a property with a beer off and had many years of water and sewerage running through the house and down the cellar ending with the fire brigade pumping us out.Not Nice.I hope you have all been spared the floods. littlebro 234
The stoms played havoc with flight-plans on Monday evening, planes were held away awaiting the storms to subside.

NewBasfordlad 3,599
Re the Winchester Street photo. The young lady with the shopping is my sons partner with his tea. Fortunately he lives further up the hill so escaped any flood damage.

Beefsteak 305
It rained really heavy for about three quarters of an hour, by which time we had settled in to watch a film. But it earned me enough Brownie points to have the whole day on the pool tomorrow whilst they go off to sommat or other hall up near Shrewsbury (I didn't want to go really !!)
