Nice Work If You Can Get It.

I see that Christine Blower, the N.U.T. Leader has got another rise that takes her pay to £160,000 a year. I thought that the late Rail Union leader Bob Crow's £145,000 salary was high. Forget your political views and ask yourself, are these high salaries justified?. Nice work if you can get it.

Pigs and trough again. Trouble is the pigs are becoming more prevalent, and the troughs a damn site bigger.

Effin' parasites.

A primary school headmaster was paid £276,523 last year - £70,000 more than the head of Eton College, it emerged last night.

Mark Elms, who runs a 335-pupil inner-city primary, received £231,400 with a further £45,123 in pension contributions.

He is among around 100 head teachers taking home more than £150,000 - outstripping David Cameron's £142,500 a year.

And what does an NCO in a battlefront earn?

I'd be up in arms if I was still paying union dues and the head of the union was earning 5 figures a year..

I remember when I was working we had union meetings, largely ignored by media etc, then one day the head of the union, whose name I can't recall, turned up in his suit and we gave him a good listening to. I looked out of the window and there were the T.V. cameras. 'High profile' people go in more for celeb' value than doing the job for which they're grossly overpaid

A sergeant would typically earn mid £30k with an additional £50 or so a day if on operations. So a year in the sandbox away from family will earn less than £50k.The highest ranking army officer, a Brigadier, will be paid just over £100k.

And here's me thinking that socialism was about everyone getting the same. Maybe George Orwell was right. Everyone is equal but some are more equal than others. Personally I wouldn't want an NUT member teaching my kids.

Socialism is NOT about equality of outcome, it's about equality of access to the articles of consumption. Only some versions of Communism espouse the idea of equality of outcome. Every other system accepts the unequal rewards earned by different contributions towards society. In practice, no society rewards the cleaner exactly the same as a scientist.

Well, there's Socialism in the 19th Century sense, and then there's 'Champagne socialism' like New Labour.

People labelling themselves as Socialists and then enriching themselves to a monumental degree.

Claiming to be philanthropists but really only interested in their own wealth.

Pigs in the trough is right.

Basfordred got it spot on.

The pigs ARE more prevalent and the troughs MUCH deeper.

Unions selling banking and insurance products to membrrs, who are they representing,I think conflict of interest,do they really think their membership is going to pay their collosall salaries.or perhaps they are,I won't.

There seem to be no limits to what corporate CEO's,or people in high office will pay themselves.

If their pay was related to their production, they would be skint. The income of these parasites is out of control.

The money comes from the investors or the tax payers.

No one has learned anything over the last eight years, and so it goes on.

Wait until the bubble bursts. I mean really bursts. I expect bankers and the like to overpay themselves. I don't like it but I expect it. But how can these union leaders and champagne socialists accept that kind of money and then claim to be one of us.

They are not 'one of us'and they only seem to represent themselves.

The real'working class union rep',disappeared in the early 60's.

I never understood the middle and upper class socialists. The ones I met in the 60's soon moved back into their own circles after the novelty wore off.

As a kid I was told to be proud of being 'working class'and to help those who struggle to help themselves. That was my mothers interpretation of 'Socialism'.

Today I still practice what I was taught 55 years ago.
