Dave 48 847
http://www.espncricinfo.com/magazine/content/story/462037.html On this day in 1975 snow fell across most of the UK. Can anybody recall this event.
colly0410 1,183
Yes I can. I was visiting my Auntie in Catterick on that day, everywhere was white over. She said "my lawn looks as good as everyone else's!" We went for a walk on the river side, it was flipping cold..
Ayupmeducks 1,730
I don't recall that, but I do recall the long cold winter of 78/79, in fact I was wearing a heavy sweater right into late July.
Cliff Ton 10,505
Yesterday I was wearing a coat which I normally put away around the end of March. I've never previously worn it in June.
The Pianoman 1,535
Yes I remember it. I had pianos to deliver!
mercurydancer 1,104
I recall one time watching a county match at Trent Bridge and it snowing. Might have been 1975 but cannot be certain by any means. Seems too early for me. The weather up here in Co Durham is hostile- 50mph winds, last night a massive hail storm with hailstones the size of marbles. So loud I thought the police were raiding me! Trees blown down in the village, and although the sun is shining now, the wind is howling.
Compo 10,328
There is still snow on the Scottish mountains but I don't think that counts.
