Beekay 4,403
Swe62, why on earth would you want to speed up a mob.scooter? Wouldn't it be easier to get a "ride on" lawn mower and tart that up. We used to have a neighbour, who's son races lawn mowers and won many prizes.
Brew 5,007
The motors are DC so voltage is the easiest way to control the speed though those scooters probably have some way of controlling the field current. There must be hundreds of sites that tell you how, Google is your friend.

Beekay 4,403
Another project for yuz to consider, why not build yerself a garden railway. A 5" gauge, passenger carrying train would be a perfect idea. Yuz could add a station and other buildings etc. Depends on how big yer estate is.

I can get it up to 30mph in the meadow and can do turns on two wheels and wheelies. Not really appropriate for someone of my age though!
