Ayupmeducks 1,730
Beat me to it, but the aerial photos are higher res than Google Maps.
Fynger 841
Shame that Birds eye view wont zoom a bit more.
Cliff Ton 10,479
Re: the hi-res thing. It seems to depend on exactly where you are looking. On both Google and Bing if you look at the main urban areas the aerial views are hi-res, but if you are looking at an obscure village in the middle of open country-side the resolution isn't so good. .... 23
The resolution on Google seems much higher than Bing for my suburb
taxi ray 170
The aerial photos on the link I posted are all old images, mostly pre war
taxi ray 170
This is 1 of the photos, showing Wilford power station and Clifton colliery.
Gibbo 04 188
Great links. I have wanted to do a photography trip along the Beeston canal from the Trent for a while now. Thank's to the above, I know what it will look like all the way, great!
.... 23
Nice little site, thanks very much Ray. Found myself a nifty pic of nearby Bestwood Lodge in 1928.
poohbear 1,360
And to think how it was 150 years earlier...
Cliff Ton 10,479
This is 1 of the photos, showing Wilford power station and Clifton colliery. That's an interesting one to me, because you can see that the Power Station is still in the process of being built; the area facing the camera is still work-in-progress, and in those early days there was eventually a row of 6 chimneys. And compare it with this, which is a few weeks/months earlier http://www.pictureth...015672&prevUrl=
