  2. I haven't traveled on either of those two bus routes for 47yrs so i am pleased to remember them, i always remember the red bus route going past Spray and Burgess in Colwick and across the railway line into Sneinton and on to The City for work in the Lace Market, the journey was like a fair ride if you got the front seat upstairs and a fast driver,a bit scary sometimes. Thanks for confirming the bus numbers and routes Steven. Did the trolley buses go to carlton near the cemetery, i have a memory of this as well.
  3. I could never remember where i caught the x99, even though i used it so often ,over the years lots of places in Notts have faded in my memory, and its so nice to have them brought back to me,Was i right with the Green bus no 25 going up Westdale Lane and 67 and 67a red bus going up Arnold Lane at Gedling back in the 1960s.

Thankyou for the information,We will be coming into Nottingham past the power station and Clifton Campus, so we should be not far from The Embankment, will probably arrive around midday and spend 3/4 hrs there,Looking forward to seeing what will be happening throughout the afternoon,Its a shame we dont have Nottstalga badges and we could say hello if we meet up.

Mick Storer had something wrong with his eye,he said he was blind in the one, something to do with bieng knocked over when a child, before i knew him, sorry the names don't ring any bells for you,The only Joe i remember was a Copley,he had two brothers called Billy and Brian, both live at Chapel St Leanards now. There used to be quite a gathering at the seats in Arnold up to end of 1964,we stopped going so much because my friends parents gave up the Labour Club and moved back to Gedling,so there was nowhere to sleep over,Oh Well,It all played a big part in my young memories.

  11. I believe the X99 was a Midland Red Bus and i have tried to remember many time over the years, where the bus departed and my memory failed me,until i read The Mount St Topic and it fell into place,It was a long Journey and i remember going through Ashby De la Zouch, I did this journey many times, unless i was feeling a bit rich and treated myself to the train, not very often ,I had to catch my bus to Gedling from Huntingdon St,either the 67 or 67a Red Bus to Arnold Lane or 25 Green Bus to the Tavern on Westdale lane.Forgive me if i am not exact with Bus numbers but i was a teenager then and an

  13. Beefsteak You reminded me of Sunday mornings as a child,Dad would load as many of us kids in his old car (he called it a Susie) what reason i don't know? and off we would go down all the country lanes, dad stopping and jumping out with his bucket and shovel every time we saw some Hos muck, and i remember Granddads Allotment up St Annswell Road he grew Dahlias and he put bags over the top of the blooms,me not being a gardener i have no idea why,any ideas?.

Can you remember the Fry's Five Boys bar, with the little boy who went from desperation to happy expectation when he gets the chocolate, well the little boy was called Lindsay Poulton, the photo's were taken in 1886 by his father, and Grandfather and uncle,he originally wore a sailor suit but was later change to striped jumper.the way they got little Lindsay to look so desperate in the first picture was to put a cloth soaked in photographers ammonia round his neck,he was 5yrs old and Fry's paid him £200 for exclusive use of the photo's (I bet Elf and Safety would have some thing to say)In 1962 Lin
