  1. One of the most boring afternoons I ever had visiting this place. Was about four years ago, so hopefully it's improved since then, not much to see & never was worth the admission price.
  2. After visiting the museum walk down Burton Road for 200 yards & you will find the best "chippy" in Lincoln. The Burton Road Fish & Chip Restaurant, smashing !
  3. We've had junk mail from the council about this too. There are proposals for Bulwell next, this loony council won't be happy until Nottingham is a police state.
  4. Don't spend it all at once Ashley !
  5. Sept 6 - 9 is English Heritage open days. Most EH places are free admission these days, also some venues are normally closed to the general public but now you get a chance to see em. Me & Mrs Catfan visited a Mausoleum last year ! At least it was something different ! http://www.heritageopendays.org.uk/
  6. PART 3, Where Mrs Catfan grew up, cica 1959-1970. Wellington Terrace, Arundel St. The Park Tunnel. The Organ Grinder, previously the Red Lion.
  7. PART 2. A Revitalized Robin Hood Terrace. William Bancroft's old factory ?
  8. Here we go the, The site of my first workplace, long since gone. This house was built on the top of the garage I was an apprentice at. Followed by the then Cavendish picture house. William Booth Memorial hall, some how doesn't quite look right dwarfed by these modern buildings. St Mary's garden of rest, Bath St. "Look at the state of this place woman" says I, until she told me a nearby sign says it 's some sort of nature reserve. A beautiful park after all ! The old Empress Cinema,
  9. Wonder if it was a "freebie" ?
  10. As hippo girl stated Cleethorpes is really dire, dirty & disgusting. Skeggy, I can take it or leave it, usually leave it ! My all time favourite is Hunstanton. I have to say this is the cleanest resort I have ever known, plenty of free on street parking as well ! There is a superb fish & chip shop there too, (Fisher's of Hunstanton).
  11. Thanks Pixie. Really was a fantastic day out. Took some smashing photo's too. May "Up" a few.
  12. Interesting thread Pixie. A few weeks ago me & Mrs Catfan decided to have a wander around Nottm for the day. Visiting places we had not been to for years, although driven around these areas we had not walked on foot, so. Had to go for a blood test & the City Hosp, so caught a No 17 bus from Bulwell Bus Station about 7.30am, buying a couple of all day tickets £6.80 for the two (ouch). From City Hosp jumped on a No 40 something to St Anns Well Rd. That is where I spent my youth & had my first job at a garage on that road, long since gone but know the exact spot where it was. From

  14. Ah well, only one more week before we see the back of it. An absolute scandalous waste of money, this country cannot aford.
  15. Stay where you are Tim ! Fresh input on any forum is good. Get postin !
  16. Don't make me laugh ! My Stepdaughter is a Lesbian ! Notice I don't say "Gay" call a spade a spade, she hates it when I say "Lesbian" cos she is a "LESBIAN". but, I love her to bits, that doesn't make me homophobic. I just don't accept her sexual way of life thats all. Tim, calm down & don't be so touchy ! You arn't doing your cause any favours. !
  17. What case ? I am certainly not homophobic, each to their own. I don't like chinese food either, does that make me a Racist ? All the years I have been a member of this forum I have never seen a homophobic comment. Are you sure you are not being over zealous in condemning posters who don't accept your particular lifestyle ? Like I previously said, if it floats your boat....................
  18. "What I have noticed on the forums over the past couple of months is the homophobia there is on this forum, granted there isn't a lot, just the odd comment here and there but as a gay man I do notice it and find it a bit odd in this day and age" What do you find odd ? Most people accept homosexuality because they are constantly told it is "normal" behaviour, when it isn't. I don't condsider Homosexuality as normal behaviour, BUT, if that floats your boat then get on with it. So long as you don't bother me with it !.
