frank..i was there about 5 months ago installing a new lift and if anything the secuity is tighter. We had to send our id ect` 4 weeks in advance to be checked and still run the risk of being turned away at the gate. We also had thepleasure of an armed escort all the time we were there. the travel lodge is 5 minutes from where i live. Fortunately it is on the good side of alfreton right next to thorntons chocolate factory. If bip meets you there he will not be dissappointed because within spitting distance is one of the best real ale pubs for miles, "The Steam Packet" with about 10 real ales on the go at any one time. Speaking of meet ups it`s time for my excuse for not being there.
