  1. Remember Jack Hargreaves? used to get a ten minute slot after the midlands news then I think he got his own half hour show on Thursday evening after the news, about country life, fishing, birds and wildlife in general, I also think he had a young lad with him at one point, the idea being that Jack would show the youngster the delights of the countryside Rog PS someone has just bought out a boxed set of DVDs of all his programs, must treat myself to that
  2. Ayup fivestarkeg, funnily enough I work just out side Woodhall Spa Tattershall Thorpe, small world eh? Rog

  6. As you might know I've been riding my recumbent trike every night (10/12 miles a night)in order to try to get fit and maybe lose a bit of weight, well I thought I would give the recumbent a break tonight and go for a blast on me road bike, OMG!!! I came back home covered in sweat, gasping for breath and a sore butt, only did about 8 miles and I was knackered, any way I weighed myself tonight (first time this week) and guess what? not lost a bloody ounce, still, having a lot of fun on me bikes though Rog
  7. Thanks for the Eagle pics Pete, I'm sure the reason i went into the trade that I did was because of those center page cutaway drawings, made technology look interesting, And it is!! Rog
  8. Interesting question that one Pete, come to think of where did all the old rail company lines start and finish? (I know, terminii)it's also interesting to hear what Bip had for breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper Rog
  9. Having NO GO areas in my city of birth, being told I have to respect the non native peoples in Nottingham when they don't give a Sh*t about me Rog, (out of it in Lincolnshire)
  10. Nice one Pete, I was told that under the gravel heap near the Coningsby viewing area there's a buried Lightening, MOD property so not allowed to dig, also under the cafe/bar on Tattershall country park is the old Coningsby dump, when the area was being dug for sand and gravel a load of spanners and spare parts came up from there so it was decided to leave it alone and dig around it as it wouldn't be economical to extract the raw material Rog
  11. They don't seem to have made much progress since I took this picture in August 2008, except maybe bring the wheels in from the main hall Rog
  12. It's eejit day in Lincolnshire every day, especially those who want to cross the white center line on every bend they come to. I've just got in from my usual evening bike ride and almost didn't make it because one of these clowns came round a bend on the wrong side of the road as shown to us by the Top Gear drivers Rog

  15. What these tree huggers don't realise is the amount of restored area's that are set aside for wildlife of all kinds because these areas don't allow public access the wild life has the run of the place and more often than not these place are designated SSSI sites or similar, without them there would be a complete loss of habitat for our wildlife. Rog
  16. Still think you should write that book Pete!!! Rog
  17. I take it from the obvious lack of response they are nothing to do with electricity or overhead wires then? Rog
  18. Yes Pete it looks very nice and quite right you should be proud of it just like we were proud of our memorial (rock) gardens just around the corner from where I grew up, but now with so many colonials and non indigenous peoples living in the area who gives a damn? shame really because I used to stand at those gates with my grandfather on remembrance day to remember those who gave their lives for us and for him to remember his lost friends from the trenches Rog
  19. Anything to do with electricity? overhead wires or similar Rog
  20. It's like sitting in a deckchair Kev, steering about where your hips are, pedals out in front hence the SPD clip pedals, when you push hard on the pedals to go, all the power gets to the back wheel whereas on a diamond frame bike some of the power from your legs goes to lifting you out of the saddle so lost power to the back wheel, the only part I had to get used to was the steering, it's very positive, I guess that took all of two minutes to get used to, Rog
  21. Recumbent trike, 20inch front wheels 26 inch rear wheel, Sturmey Archer drum brakes on the front wheels, ackerman steering, 27 gears through Sram grip shift, mesh recumbent seat, light alloy and cromoly frame, Shimano SPD pedals, equals great fun Rog
  22. Just got back from my nightly 12 mile cycle ride, not lost an ounce of weight but breathing and heartrate recovery time is coming down so at least I'm getting a bit fitter Rog
