Thought about time.......Had me bike out....not done for a few weeks ......so on went me '''Lycra''' shorts...nice new 'T' shirt...and a pair proper football socks which went nicely with my ''Shoe Dockers'' (which i paid a Tenner for about 20 year ago.in a Lay-by in Northants).......To be honest Lady next door said i looked a ''Bugger'' on returning.........(shan't give her any more 'Croggies) Enjoyed the short burst and felt better for it......... I'll never be in Rog's or PP'S league....but aint giving up yet...........
  4. All i'll say about the 'Budgie' incident is this.......so for the sake decency... Twas in Peterborough.....Budgie out of cage.......Knob to back door came off in my Hand....i finished up in Garden shed..... Just realised its now 10 years since i joined 'Nottstalgia............Lots happened in that time.....remember in the early days meeting up with 'Mick to me'' and Cliff ton.....and having coffee in a place down near the Canal in town.......lots of members now gone miss most of them............. Plus many new members joined after me.......its been an interesting 10 years......like to think ive made many friends on here some lovely people.......met quite of few of them....and its been a pleasure......never fell out with any....come close a few times...but its not my nature...

Just watched some brief highlights of Forest win up the road at Bramall lane.........still love Forest even though my interest in them has cooled.......didnt recognise any of the players..never thought i'd say that.......... Bramall lane i class as local and have visited a few times....great History in the place.....not just united but test and county cricket......even watched my son boxing there..........good win forest, might still be in the Premier league next season.............

Those boats going into Llandudno Rog bring back some magic memories of growing up in the 50s...............Mam and Dad took me for a week every year.............to Rhyl....and enjoyed sailing down the coast to Llandudno and Colwyn Bay in one very much like them or could even been one of them...... Edit.......nearest i ever got to going on a Cruise....

  15. The only Boats ive had owt to do with were rowing boats down the 'Embankment''....about 2 bob for an hour...back in 61/62.... Oh yes not forgetting the odd thursday half day closing...over at 'Highfields'' '.......couldnt swim back then....but never told the lucky Lass...i was rowing for........after nearly 'Drowning'' a couple of times decided to learn to swim when i was 30.... As was the great 'Rod' when he sang this........now nearly 80 he still looks and sings good...........

  17. Not many Phil.........i only wear a suit at Funerals now..........its usually ''Suit Jacket and Jeans''...........which i find comfortable and smartish.......especially with a nice shirt
  18. IM sure i did OZ...........I was always buying suits.....even in my last years of work always wore a suit and mostly a Crombie too....... Took a team of security lads to many boxing events all over the country.......met and enjoyed many of the famous ''Promoters''......Plus ex boxers and TV commentators.......always booted and suited.......Loved it......almost as much as 'Dressing a window''...or 'Boning a side of Bacon''...............
  19. i went for a job at will-Hills in 1960 on leaving school..didnt get it...told me to get my haircut and come back..next time i went i was delivering a Parcel in a van like this from Midland station......until the pull of Marsdens got too much........never did buy a suit from Will-Hills...couldnt afford it......think my first suit was £20 from Burtons Friar lane corner...on the knock.........eventually graduated to ''Willerbys''.....great grey pin-stripe...£40.........knocked em ''Bandy'' down the ''Palais''...........

  21. Nothing like the old 50s Musicals.......Mam and Dad loved em and took me to see most of them......i'm sure thats where i get my love for music and Dance from... The 3 main Cinema's we visited were...The Vernon at Basford....Adelphi in Bulwell.....and the Mechanics in town......all easeally accesable from where we lived on Bestwood estate.......Bus stop outside our house....number 28 bus dropped us right outside the Mechanics.........Adelphi....number 17 bus 200 yards from home....dropped outside......then the Vernon in Old Basford 20 minute walk from Bestwood......halfway there on Southwa
