I follow a few amateur photographers & old photo sites on Twitter & one posted a couple of pics & wasn’t sure of the location, he’d taken them some years back but was unsure if they were Nottingham or Bolton. A programme for the Theatre Royal was spotted in one of the pics, pointing to Nottingham. I never got the hang of pic posting on here so I’ve supplied the link.

@suzanne wells I’ll show this to my father when I next see him and see if he remembers the name as he was born in 1926 so it’s feasible their paths crossed. It was going to be this weekend to watch the match with mates in a pub but it sounds like too much hassle even if we got in. There’s a guy on this thread called @Richard Peach his relatives were something to do with the founding of the company. He called in to see the old man a year or so back and had a chat, he even supplied pics of the old clocking in clock. I’ll let you know if the name rings any bells with him, Cheer

I miss @IAN123. contributions. He posted some excellent pics and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of Nottingham. Add in some cracking Nottingham anecdotes and you’ve got what should be the perfect example of someone you want on a site dedicated to Nottingham. Instead we get banal posts about bunions (I’ve just made that up, not been on much lately but you get the idea), cats etc. It’s a NOTTINGHAM site, not “Hello” magazine.
