  1. Did'nt realise until last week why i never saw kids in the back Garden of Wetherspoons, reason is they are not allowed, because smoking is.Which i think is good also another rule about kids in Wetherspoons is they must have meal plus the parents are only allowed 2 drinks, again i reckon that is good, stops parents getting 'smashed all day whilst in charge of kids, which i'm sure a few in my beloved Bulwell would.
  2. Nice to read all the comments on this topic, and no falling out or abuse, also no matter which side of the fence you sit on,we all do care about the Forum and its content. 'viv la the differences

  10. I agree with most of what you say Cliff Ton,...all i am saying is 'its a shame'...........perhaps should have banned the culprits or perhaps used the 'warning points? We all have different interests, and folk should put their points of view in a non abusive way.
  11. I often give a 'like' to something i disagree with,if i find it funny or admire the member for stating their view,.......like me Grandad always said, Always listen to someone elses point of view.

  15. I fully understand the forums policy on political/religeous threads and the legal implications wherby some members go too far,but i do feel that its taken something away from the forum as a whole. Ive only been a member about 6 months and ive really enjoyed my time here,i just think its become a little less interesting of late, JUST MY THOUGHTS,anyone else think the same,or is it just me?
  16. Iused to work behind the bar at the 'railway club' in Bulwell in the 60s (4/6 per hour) and heard some of the members talk about the one in Wilford, and the one armed bandit was probably the same type, only accepted the old tanners,we used to play it after hours, one night it went wrong and paid out on every pull, the Steward immediatly made us cease playing it and pulled the plug out, very honest man.
  17. I am sure the breathaliser came out late 60s,i remember being in Birmingham and having a slight panic attack seeing the Police stopping cars late one night when i had been drinking, think it was 69' may be wrong?
  18. Work forced me into useing a mobile, and i must admit it became indispensible when on the road, and i like texting,it means you can answer in your own good time if you are doing something else, like driving.

  21. Back in the 50s and 60s you would never believe that one day we would all be walking about with a computer in our pockets, even a TV,Camera and a sat nav, that the USA would have a black president, another 'Holy war' and England a 3rd rate football team. Amazing really int it.,wonder whats coming next?
