I buy Bygones regularly and on the whole enjoy the "lookbacks". Sometimes though it is not worth buying because as you say the amount of features relating to the main picture are not very much. I've not bought the last 2 issues as on looking through them I didn't think they were worth buying. I agree that they ought to have more reminiscing from readers but is the reason people aren't contributing much sometimes?

I've not seen a ready reckoner for years and years - don't know if they are still available or not.

I saw it on a map I bought from Waterstones yesterday (it was 1913 and not as I previously said). It's part of a series from alangodfreymaps covering Nottingham North (inc Mapperely and Carrington) - an old Ordanance Survey map and only £2.50 for each map (I ended up buying 8 of different areas of Nottingham!)

Just found there were shops on the site in 1951 so I presume the brewery was demolished in the late 40's as you said Cliff Ton.

My favourites are "Open All Hours" - "Dinnerladies" and "One Foot In The Grave". Another I found very funny but not strictly a comedy show I suppose was "A Pint of Lager & A Packet Of Crisps"
