  1. That pub is just up the road from where we stayed on our visit to the UK recently Phil. Shame about all these old public houses going to rack & ruin. Once gone that's it, we have lost all that was good about the pub enviroment & it is never coming back.
  2. Nah you are wrong Den. I love blueberries & Vanilla yoghurt on mine. As a child I remember we used to have just jam some of the time along with the traditional orange juice & sugar the times we had an orange in the larder.

  4. I remember all of the above as well as Barley water what was that for ??? & sulphur tablets, again I have no idea what they were for but we chomped them like sweets,they were different colors & tasted like sulphur,what a surprise!

I think the members on this site might find it interesting too me duck Vintage Skegness News is where you will find it the year was 1963. The poor man who died tragically in this fire was mine & Smithylass's uncle. He was once a publican in Nottm. Caz
  6. I loved narna & jam sandwiches,& I loved it on Jacobs cream crackers too yummo! I also remember having what Katy calls pobs,though we called it flummity,I absolutely loved the flavour of the crusts in the milk,& you know why it tasted so good don't you,apart from the fact we were starving? it was made with full fat milk not that mazzy watter we all drink now. !hungry!

  9. And it's till there let me tell you. Just as grubby & dingy as it ever was. There's a retro shop in the arcade,not sure how long it's been there,it's filled to bursting with heaps of old stuff.

  14. Guess what,bet you can't guess ? It's RAINING!!!!!!!!!................. quite heavily at the moment & as far as I know it wasn't even fore cast,funny thing is the temp has dropped dramatically & it feels quite fresh,mmmmm what a lovely birthday present B)

  16. Yeah we had lots of rammel in the bogey ole too Katy. Had to keep it inside because we were too nesh to goo owt in the backyard. My mum always used to say she cud eat a hoss with it's saddle on, mind I never saw her do it

There was another song I remember that had risque lyrics too,can't remember it at the moment it's on the tip of my tongue i know Does anyone remember Judge Dredd,boy could he make up a rhyme.............Not !!!

  19. Sorry for the delay Katy been tied up I left for the same reasons all of us Expats did I suppose a better way oflife for my kids & myself,which we have certainly had living in OZ no argument. My eldest son is back in UK & has been for a lot of years,but at least he has dual citizenship !bravo!
