  1. No Ian, I just happened to be looking at 'er indoors. I once told I loved her blue corduroy trousers. She hit me ! I did'nt realise she had varicose veins.

  4. No Rog., in actual fact it is part of a Nottingham lace coffee table cloth that I stood the box on. Gresley A3 Pacific, Flying Scotsman 4472. Barrie.

  8. Not only shops Mary47, but St. Anns also had bloody good allotments. 40/47 trolley buses was my first solo outing as a conductor back in 1962.

  14. You could serialise all that Phil. I'd read it. An interesting fact I've just found out, ( from Canada no less ). I knew I was related to Jayne Torville, but just been informed, her father was my Great Uncle. My Grandads sister, married her dad. Anybody want me autograph?
  15. Thing I remember about winter 62/63 was the bloody cold ! I was a bus conductor at the time, working on the rear platform of the old AEC mk3, ( Daimler Fleetlines were just being introduced). Even with an overcoat on, it were still a freezing experience. I had some woolen gloves with the fingers cut off, but it was still difficult to operate the ticket machine and handle the money. I remember once when it was so foggy, that I sat on the front wheel arch so I could guide my driver, Joe Handley. He could'nt even see the kerb. We limped out of town up Derby road and down Alfreton road. It was on
