  1. Sorry Kath, tried it again and just the same adverts popping up all over, even obscuring the articles. Will keep looking on it though. X.
  2. Thanks for reminding me HSR. Heard an advert on BBC 1 telling me about tennis on BBC 2 at 1.30pm with another guise of " Wimbledon Re-wind" ! I love tennis but for crying out loud another name for repeats !!! I/we tend to watch programmes like Smithsonian, Quest, Abandoned Engineering, CCXTV to name a few. I realise that a lot are old films but at least they are interesting. There's been some good steam railways on and I reckon Bill Nighey s " Greatest train journeys in the World" have some stunning scenery, I take my hat off to the cameraman. Some good stuff on " Talking Pictures".
  3. Yet another poor weekend of television over, thank heaven. Football yesterday, football today with another match played months ago. And to top it all , now they have again ' match of the day! Listening to some of the trailers for upcoming progs, you know your onto a winner when they start with, " Another chance to see", or " the best of/best bits". Sod it !! I'm off to bed to read me book. Good night all, Stay safe!
  4. On the subject of Netherfield area, whereabouts is Bakersfield? Pardon my ignorance.
  5. No AG, you'd probably be more interested in the fillings.
  6. Just tried that link Kath, just inundated with adverts all over the place. Chose a topic, then have to fight your way round the ads to follow the story. What a bummer ! Why on Gods earth do I want to check out bras?
  7. My armed guard when I go to Eastbourne.
  8. Why not include the darkest depths of Littlehampton, Eastbourne, Hastings, Matlock Bath etc. Now there's some dangerous jungles. You have make sure you've had all your inoculation.
  9. Different brushes, same outcome Jill. To offer enjoyment and satisfaction of 'a job well done'. Being able to stand back and say, " I did that" !
  10. With all the crap that's shoved out on TV nowadays, ours is not on very much. We've now been in house arrest for 104 days, which has given me the opportunity to wear out my paint brushes. I can't believe how much I have achieved since being on lockdown. Running out of stuff to do, hence painting a bean tin and. Fray Gentle flat tin, ( my neighbour said it would make a great ash tray, 'cheeky bugger'). Might have to contact Bigsis about painting stones. I don't mind some of the documentaries that's on TV but when you see it on again a couple of days later, I despair. And now bloody football i
  11. Technology is a wonderful thing, in its right place Jill. When and if I switch on my satnav, I can argue with that ! Technology tell me to go a route that I have probably been doing for years. You see all the adverts on TV for gaming devices etc of which I just don't get the concept of grown adults sitting on a settee, console in hand and getting all excited Asif their very lives depended on it. Lockdown has been a heaven sent gift for the armchair warriors. Alexa, order me another six pack of lager and a deliveroo of pizza.
  12. Alas I don't have that sort of phone or Alexa wotsit. I have discovered this wonderful method called paper and pencil. Both served me for well over fifty years. Admitted, I am using my tablet to create a shopping list for the purpose of online delivery slots, (only just mastered that !). These all singing, all dancing devices scare the hell outa me. All this techno talk about streaming, vlogs, blogs etc just leaves me cold. What happened to thinking? Alright, I know I'm a dinosaur, but I prefer to stay in control. By the way Alexa, put the kettle on and butter my toast soldiers.
  13. I'll take your word for it NA.
  14. Could say that about a few humans too Jill.
  15. What amazes me is why anyone would want to visit somewhere that required an armed guard for protection.( A bit like hotels in Jamaica, where your only allowed on their private beach). Totally irevellent, I know.
  16. Do you actually talk to real live people at any time SG?
  17. Seems alright to me Compo. What's intriguing is the middle lady with a couple of bright blue walking aids. Are they the new Mursi weapons?
  18. Proper little ray of sunshine aint yer SG. Are yer a professor of philosophy?
  19. All I'm hearing about Broad Marsh seems to toll the death knell for that area. Nobody seems to have a good word for it. Cannot remember when I last went in there. It has to be when we lived in Nottingham and going in there to pick up something from Argos, that used to be inside, opposite the entrance. Even then it didn't make an impression on me.
  20. I'm sure I read somewhere that Clumber street is the busiest pedestrianised street in the world. Anybody know if this is true or just an urban legend?
  21. In that case then SG, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLOSSOM ! Have a great rest of the day and enjoy every minute of your enforced rest, due to Lockdown. We may be miles apart but you can me on your list as one of your pals.
  22. From what I've seen on you tube etc.,to go round that area and the castle district, you need an American accent with a shoulder full of cameras. Can't see anything inviting, that goes for the market square too. Totally unrecognisable from the days when I used to drive buses round there. What happened to Granby street? Did it get swallowed up by the monstrosity, Maid Marion Way?
  23. Maybe it's time to knock the whole lot down and put back the statue and rebuild the Alms houses that were there. At least they would of more use. Could even be a little park in there. Edit. BS, you must have some tales about Warwickshire.
  24. Of course I can Trogg. 'Er indoors has handed me a pair of clogs and asked if I would/could paint them. You know me, willing to try owt!.......Now, what do you need to know?
