  1. Some desirable signage there, my preference would be the Decca also love the HMV.. possibly neon? not familiar with EKCO so googled bought out Dynomic in '54 apparently..I mentioned some throwaway mic's previously that were great, same brand, no way 1954 though, I think early 60's.
  2. Thanks, I think that is the signal box I mentioned before.. Pear St in the early 1900's..roughly a third was lost to the viaduct..there's a picture around 1910 of Pear St..Mr Flint renting lodging..signal can be seen. Another pic is after the clearance of Sussex St the resourceful Flint is renting out cart's. My GGGGF grandfather lived here. In the 1840-50's the area is about 60-40 Irish. Many other non Nottingham transient poor people. Makes me understand why future generations stayed within a stones throw of each other.
  3. At first, thought you were writing an extra verse to Waterloo Sunset! But we are talking 'Percy' here, i dated a couple of stunners that considered him 'out of their league'.
  4. Revolver Records..got stung there. £32.99..for Zep's song remains the same On VHS when it came out. Redundant tech but at that price ain't parting.. Green carrier bag's with a black logo? If I remember Zep's SRTS hit the cinema in '76 . came out later on VHS early 80's ..went to see SRTS .I think it might have been a.one off showing ? at the Royal Centre about 1982.
  5. Really enjoyed reading through this thread, could give a like to every post..hope that means I have done! Why don't they have any? The larger stall in Victoria market was Pendulum Records, red carrier bags, did they have a Native American/Aztec style Logo? Black print writing. After reading the weeks music mags for the next Monday's releases I found in Nottingham, the major shop's didn't yet stock it. When visting Pendulum they had the import copy released month's earlier! Very competitive price wise also circa 1979 albums in nearby Boot's £5.25 Pendulum £3.99.
  6. Being an optimist, I still think something positive can come from the current mess..The END of two party politics! No doubt the slimeballs would start forming pacts however!
  7. Sorry, me thinks it was Venue 51 not 53! Maybe related to the number of the property? Very small inside..had a mirrored back wall greeting you when walking through the door. This was in 1982.
  8. Venue 53..I was told Dire Straits played there.
  9. Wimpy Bars, Remember those big realistic tomato lookalike sauce dispensers & the round frankfurter sausages shaped like castles.
  10. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greybull_Capital Have a track record of this sort of behaviour..400m investment.. boll**ks. Certainly makes me think who are their shareholders!
  11. Was it the Sweeney or the The Professionals or both where the good guys always drove Ford's..The bad in something British normally Jag's? early product placement? Do recall Reagan having a white mini in one episode.
  12. Yes ..Good Tom Jones..totally smoked Jagger when it came to a James Brown impersonation.. on holiday with my parents .Great Yarmouth Pier..also Charlie Drake
  13. Enjoy It Oztalgian.. wouldn't be my personal preference..
  14. I'm a Forest fan..but sad to see Nott's go out the League..hope they bounce straight back. My fear, even with a half a million parachute that quality ground is going to take some maintenance. God forbid that ground merger idea coming back to the table.
  15. Cat & Dog food..here I come! Maybe not ..it's probably more expensive than the budget range human consumption.
  16. Yes..the smell of that mask! was prewarned..thus I fought it..when woozy I went under..didn't lose my tonsils which explains no memory of any ice cream.
  17. DJ360..I was born in hospital in '62 & recall having gas as I child at the dentist!
  18. Totally missed my point there..I remember your idea being banded about..a 66.6/33.3 starting point isn't what I consider a democracy. The referendum in political terms wasn't even close. Whatever your opinion the people who are supposed to represent us are a disgrace.
  19. Not their best album in IMO..but must be worth a few pennies nowadays in Ex /NM Condition.. I remember visting a shop in York where it was on the wall wanting £40 in 1989... Presumably mint if such a thing exists. Bought my copy in Leeds £3.50. very listenable & l ain't selling!
  20. DJ360, wouldn't go as far as putting our city in a bad light..but it was a strange watch.heavily loaded activist audience ..both sides.. a smaller audience also...used to be from the Albert Hall. Haven't seen one like that since Fiona took over!
  21. Keeping things topical did Steve Davis get the option for a re-rack after losing the 1985 snooker final on the black ball. Theoretically the two thirds majority can still be decided by one vote. Two bills were passed in parliament relating to this..one by one vote decided by somebody wearing a tag and the other a tie decided by Burk..how. both went through. Maybe it could be done on Regions..out of the commonly accepted 12 other than Scotland, Northern Ireland & London.. the other 9 voted to leave. Whatever your leanings..what bleddy mess!
  22. Remember the rolls of carpet also..there was also a period with stalls selling tie dye t-shirts, & head shop paraphernalia about 1986.
  23. Only went in a few times..Didn't the Newshouse have outside toilets? There was always a traffic flow around the pool table!
  24. Going of at a tangent.seen T.S. loads of times. My only connection with Nott's is my Grandparents & previous generations. I have the gatefold tcftb also. bought in Chinatown Soho..Later Signed by Tony. only visited Nott's fleetingly but attended Groundhog gigs twice at the Mardi Gras.twice at the Running Horse..solo at Bobby Browns & solo at the Yorker. A Real hard working true musician is Mr McPhee.
