Smiffy49 590
I have not visited the castle for years, this may prompt me to do that in the future. I think there was a small scene filmed at the castle in "Saturday Night & Sunday Morning" Can you still go down Mortimer's Hole? Smiffy

Smiffy Yes there was a scene with Albert Finney and Shirley Anne Field. You cant go down Mortimer's hole (officially) but there are ways - the tunnels go across the city. Bubblewrap 3,815
IT IS NOT A CASTLE. It is a Georgian stately home previously owned by the Duke of Newcastle
poohbear 1,360
We're quite aware what it is,but it's known as the Castle and that's what tourists think they will find. And when the lease runs out it still belongs to them.
Bilbraborn 1,594
My home is my castle. I am king and my wife is queen. Pity I haven't a moat.
