where was ' The Grove'?

At first I thought that was the road name, but now I think it's just a house name. I think that road is Ebers Road; difficult to be exact on Streetview because there are a lot more trees now, but I reckon from about here   https://goo.gl/maps/gFtvBbrseh22

Oh come on , pay attention at the back you lot  ! :)

These are all scenes from the 1944 film They Knew Mr Knight in the fictitious town of Trentham , starring Mervyn's Johns and written by Dorothy Whipple wife of Henry Whipple .

Admittedly these scenes are much clearer and sharper and some maybe outtakes but all discussed in depth here :

Haven't read through all the original thread again but as far as I remember the only scene not identified in 2013 is where the family are walking past a row of terraces . Looks a bit like old Bradford .

Great piece of film.

couple of things really stood out to me.

1.   The large number of factory chimneys in that day

2.  The beautiful skies and cloud formations, even noticable in B&W.    Today if seems all we see are vapour trails and a nasty white haze.
