Recommended Posts

Just realised its now 10 years since i joined 'Nottstalgia............Lots happened in that time.....remember in the early days meeting up with 'Mick to me'' and Cliff ton.....and having coffee in a place down near the Canal in town.......lots of members now gone miss most of them.............

Plus many new members joined after me.......its been an interesting 10 years......like to think ive made many friends on here some lovely people.......met quite of few of them....and its been a pleasure......never fell out with any....come close a few times...but its not my nature...:)

Finally like to add ive had a couple of serious health issues over the last few years.....and the support i have recieved from other members as been wonderful...........

Hope Nottstalgia has many more years for me and those with  '''Nowt else better to do'''

Went to bed last night feeling a bit sorry for myself, the vision in my right eye seems to be diminishing rapidly. Stayed abed till 10:30 and ignored the phone- stupid-stupid -stupid. It was the hospital and I presume it was to arrange an appointment. The number will not accept return calls, but a recorded voice says to wait, they will call again. Now I have now't else better to do than sit and wait...

Serves me right I suppose.

I remember that meeting. It was the Wetherspoons 'Company Inn' in the old warehouse near the canal.  It closed over a year ago and the whole block is now being converted into luxury flats.

I remember you joining Nottstalgia @benjamin1945 and being a tad stressed about your first serious health issue.  You got through that one (and the next), you’ve had a tough few years but you’re still here to bring a smile to our faces.  I’ve also found that there are some lovely supportive folk on here and have always been very appreciative of that.

An ex schoolfriend of mine, who used to live near  me in Radford, tried to get me onto 'Radfordtonians'.

But apparently she was unsuccessful. Seems you have be on Facebook to achieve this. Ah well, it's back to tormenting Phil and Rog.

Best move I ever made Jill, it's a very busy occupation being retired or as I prefer to call it "Self Employed"

My husband is retired but hates it. He’s spent his life in restaurants and being with people who have become friends. He doesn’t know what to do, he’s got no hobby and will not go into the village centre and be an old crony sitting and watching the world go by or hanging around outside the bars chatting like the old folks do . But yesterday he spent nearly all day painting the wall round the front that the winter had made a mess. Now today he’s full of pains.
