steve7martin 8
Always remember having my first proper haircut at the barbers on Colwick Road, my grandad took me. We lived on Baden Powell, you turned right on to Colwick Road and the barbers was a short distance on the right. Remember asking for a 'Boston' whatever that was!! the old guy would then just razor it all off. I use to look pretty much like I do now.....without having to go to the barbers!! Cliff Ton 10,466
I'd agree. I used to go along there quite often when the factories were still there. This from PTP shows the entrance to the Lawrence factory area. And that house is still there today. https://goo.gl/maps/Yf98WcvrvJQ2

loppylugs 8,429
Hard to imagine it now. BTW. Did you notice? It looks like the same bike on both those pictures even though they are probably years apart. Must belong to the same bloke who works there or nobody could be bothered to pinch it. catfan 14,793
That bike is the photographer's "trademark" Dave, in all his photo's.
loppylugs 8,429
Aaaaaar so!! I'll look out for it in future.
Cliff Ton 10,466
Reg Baker was the bike photographer. Picture the Past have literally hundreds of his photos and he deliberately included his bike in most of them.
Guest
Didn't some Art Gallery recently display a pile of bricks that Reg had whipped from each condemned property he photographed?
