  1. His address is given as Bunny Hall, that was chek whytes family home a few years ago, so probably his son.
  2. Chek whyte tower was going to be built at the bottom end of Lower parliament st, on the opposite corner to Machine mart. I doubt if it will be going ahead as he went bankrupt about 2 or 3 years ago.
  3. I enjoyed listening to that, the atmosphere in the old clubs like that will soon be a thing of the past.
  4. I dont see the point in demolishing all these buildings, yet leaving 3 that have been empty for years, do they think that once the tram goes past these they will be desirable lettings?
  5. The mill at Langley Mill has been closed for a few years now, whilst it was closed there was a fire that destroyed a lot of the roof, the roof has been replaced and has been empty since, I would imagine that there is a lot of damage inside.
  6. I went to Lenton Primary in the 70s, I can remember meeting Doug Scott who came to the school after his conquest of Everest, his wife Jan Scott was a teacher there, the council closed this school a couple of years ago, it is now going to reopen as a part of Dunkirk primary school. Has any other school be renamed, after a different area? They are finally demolishing Dunkirk fire station, would that have not made a perfect site for the expansion of Dunkirk primary school?
  7. I went past the Boulevard today, they have got builders in and large signs saying opening soon, as it has been closed for a few years I thought that it would never reopen. Possibly something to do with the Gregory shutting a few weeks ago.
  8. the auction is not until the 19th of June, don't forget to bid.
  9. In Eastwood, on Plumptre Way there is a house with a home made sign, showing the directions of what I think are old mines, anyone seen it? I will try and post a link to google street view. There is also a similar sign outside a house in Cossal, on the Glebe. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ll=53.012911,-1.304042&spn=0.000006,0.004823&hnear=NG8+2GE,+United+Kingdom&t=h&z=18&layer=c&cbll=53.012933,-1.304215&panoid=U2Euoevfofl2jtm4GEGCDA&cbp=12,257.44,,2,1.2
  10. Yes they are definetly being demolished. last photo shows an old lorry, that looks like it was abandoned years ago.
  11. I passed the baths today and it looks like it is being demolished, or some part of the buildings around it are. I will get a photo later.
  12. Try these Mick, they have most parts in stock and are very reasonable, they are on Aspley Lane. http://greyselectrical.co.uk/

  16. Taken at Goathland about 18 years ago. A65 that I had at the time, daughter is now 19.
  17. I also thought Jonathon King, as he had a few songs under different names.
  18. I went up the drive at Wilford Hill today, there are no lamp posts.
  19. In the video clip you can see concrete lamp posts, so I think that rules out the Park. I thought of Wilford Hill as that seems to be the only high spot in that view. I was in that area today and some of the smaller streets in and around Greythorn drive are quite steep, but you cant get a clear view as trees block most of the views. They still have the old concrete lamp posts in that area as well. From the old market square to wilford hill is about 2.5 miles in a straight line, it looks a lot closer than that.
  20. It seems that Raleigh has been sold to a Dutch company, it's amazing that a company that once employed thousands and was the largest bike factory in the world, now only employs about 100 people in Nottingham. I watched this the other day, there is a short clip of part of the factory at 3.10 minutes, look out for the early mobile phone at 13.30 minutes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEpZIxh7les

  24. All the petrol stations are busy today, noticed that the 1 on Wollaton Vale has increased his price for diesel from 146.9 yesterday to 150.9 today, and still people are queuing, thats the most expensive that I have seen diesel today, the station on the a52 at Gamston is 149.9 today it was 146.9 yesterday.
