  1. Hi Brew. I came in late on reading. Sorry to read of your trials and tribulations. Hoping you are soon feeling chipper again and any injuries heal quickly. Take care of yourself mate.
  2. Hi Nonna. I've found stress is a big issue in BP. If I allow myself to get mad or frustrated at something mine goes way up and can take days to simmer down again.
  3. I think some issues with BP may be a Europe vs North America thing. Normal here is considered to be 120/80. I read somewhere 140/90 is considered the norm in Europe. I think here that is considered stage 1 hypertension and can get you on meds. I just consider it a scam to sell more meds along with many nasty side effects. Mrs L tells me once upon a time 100 + your age used to be considered normal. eg 170 over whatever. Show up at the docs office with tnose numbers now and they'd probably call an ambulance. I get white coat hypertension these days. Thankfully my doc acceps that and
  4. I'm with you on that Margie. My symptoms are definitely worse if I sit too long. Sometimes I wonder if the hernia surgery I had on my right side could be a factor too. I don't think my doctor knows.
  5. Sounds like you made the right choice, Trogg. I guess once we get much beyond middle age we've got to expect some issues. Seems like for things like Sciatica there is no one size fits all solution.
  6. Hope your surgery goes well Col, and clears up quickly. I think Tylenol may be another name for Paracetomol. The underlying name for it seems to be Acetominifen, and that is marketed under several names in USA and Canada. One could try Ibuprofen a Nottingham product if I remember rightly but it is a Nsaid. I understand these can cause some issues so I have not tried any. Aleve is another. Hurting more today after very active day yesterday. Serves me right I guess. I try to avoid most drugs and just tough it out.
  7. I'd hit, like Ian, but I don't like that you are still suffering. Hoping things improve soon.
  8. Hi, Ian and Mary. I was just having a quick read of NS last night before bed when I came across your posts on Sciatica. I think I am struggling with that right now. Got out of bed one morning about three weeks ago and almost fell with a searing pain in my right leg. Right hip down to behind right knee. I almost yelped. Reminded me of that old fifties radio comedy show where this old lady used to say, "It was agony, Ivy." I staggered from the bedroom to my recliner. Eventually got a cup of tea and a couple of Tylenol. Dragged on all day and equal agony trying to lift my right leg i
  9. Actually since that last site software change it won't let me logout! There is no longer anywhere on the top right of the page to log in or out or send or receive p.ms or notifications. Just shows me as always logged in. Annoying. At least not in Firefox. On Brave I can log in and out just as I always did.
  10. True Jill. Wouldn't marry anyone who didn't love all animals, especially dogs. Present mrs L and I getting a bit long in the tooth to handle our two now, and they know it.
  11. Yes, I did marry young. I was 20, she was 19. Heard afterwards some at our wedding said it would not last because were too young. Fooled 'em didn't we? Age no problem if genuine love exists. Thanks Margie. 1st. Thessalonians 4:13 to end.
  12. 58 years today since I married the first mrs. Loppy, at Gedling church, Sept 11 1965. When we chose the date we had no idea what would happen in the USA in 2001. Unfortunate because that is now a painful reminder of the day. We had a happy marriage until she died of a heart attack on March 6 1999 three days after a car accident in which a guy ran a stop sign and hit her as she was driving home from my daughters. After two years of living alone with my dog I met the second Mrs Loppy through a widow/widowers support group. Her husband had died of a heart attack a year earlier. Subsequentl
  13. Probably a couple hundred miles south of us Nonna. Doesn't look much on the map. A few years ago my late FIL came to visit us in Calgary. The olympics were on in Montreal. Before he left. Notts. someone asked him if he would go to the Olympics in Montreal. He told them doubtful. We will be as far from Montreal in Calgary as you are here. Looks nothing on the map. Sunny and cooler here today.
  14. Thanks Nonna. We are ok. We are in North Ga. The storm is over South Ga and North Florida. Expected to go up the coast I think. Some rain today but nothing bad.
  15. If I remember rightly one can read NS on any computer. Only need a login if you want to post. Beware BK.
  16. That's right CT. I pastored for 12 years before I retired. I made a point of never being alone with any children. Nothing is more disgusting to me than taking advantage of a child. One has to protect oneself from false accusation or misunderstanding also. A position or reputation can be so quickly destroyed. I cannot understand the mindset or wickedness of some.
  17. Went to Loch Ness in 1967. Never saw it. Living dangerous BK. If she ever figures it out, you are toast.
  18. I don't see that as overactive imagination, just caution. There's too many weirdos out there.
  19. I remember a soft drink line called, Redgate. Wondering if there's a connection there.
  20. Thanks for the reply. This debate has been going on for years and, neither, you nor I can add much to it or do anything about it. My personal opinion is that electric cars are no solution and I don't want one. It would seem that the WEF (For whom I had no vote) will shortly solve the problem for us. "You will have nothing and you will be happy." Welcome to your 15 minute city and brave new world. Glad I'm gerrin' owd! On that happy note I will post no further on this topic.
